Sanford Brown Institute, SBI, Western School Of Health And Business, SBI in Pittsburgh, misleading and fraudulent Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

HORRIBLE!! I initially wanted to start the Massage Therapy Program in the Pittsburgh downtown center in January 09, but was told by Admissions Rep. Paul that they did not have any evening available only the Monroeville campus did. I told him Monroeville was too far and I would wait for something to open up in the spring. The recruiter Paul, was very abrasive and aggressive with me, kinda like a car salesman. He called me often and was very pushy trying to get me into the daytime program.

I came to find out through another student that they did have an evening program that started in Jan. 09. So I talked to another rep and I started the evening program in April of 09. From the beginning the instructors did not have control of their classrooms, allowed food and drink, and allowed students to miss more than their 25% and still attend. (BTW-the teachers are not certified teachers.

Most of them are graduates from SBI or work in the field they teach in.) I later found this out because in order for the school to get Title IV funding the students have to show up at least 60% of the time in the first block. (It's in the handbook). Otherwise the funding will have to be sent back and SBI won't make MONEY. It is a FOR PROFIT school and run like a business with sales and money-making on their mind, not YOUR best interest.

I completed my first and second block and some of the students missed way more than 25% of their time and were told to come to school at least 1 time per week to keep their financial aid going. This was so SBI could make money off of them even if they weren't there. It's a SCAM and it's FRAUDULENT.

They are a bunch of fast talking, lieing, and uncertified people that want to make money off of YOU!! I have read other reviews concerning their lack of job placement and training criteria. They also make bogus charges like LAB FEES on your account to get extra money out of you. BEWARE!!
