Without knowledge my loan was sold to Santander by Citifinancial last year.  For many months I have asked for an amendment to my account and have been unsuccessful.  Despite the fact of a few late payments I have kept up on the account.  However, there have been many attempts to get assistance that have failed.

Santander's practices are very unethical and they harass you and anyone you mentioned for a reference.  There practices are very tacky to say the least.  just the other day they called my friend and lied to her stating that " I submitted a resume to their company and was disconnected from a call with me and needed to contact me."

They lie and have no intentions of helping the customer. I have been constantly battling with Santander for what they call a T.R.I.P. amendment.  Basically, this is a six month amendment to the account.  For months they stated that I qualified and every time I call back on the date to check on the status, the confirmation number that I was given does not exist.  The representatives are horrible and purposely give out misinformation.  With that being said my account is pushed further behind because they assure me on each call that they will assist me with the temporary amendment.

They have a rolling basis for late payments and do not stop the late status when you make a payment.  For instance, I made a payment a few weeks ago that should have brought my account current, but instead I received a bill stating that I am 39 days late and online it states that I am 51 days late.  So clearly there is a misunderstanding. They are extremely hard to deal with and I do not recommend Santander!

I cannot believe that Citifinancial sold to the wolves and left millions in limbo.  My credit is being destroyed as we speak.  I am extremely disturbed with all the complaints on the BBB and the RIPOFF Report, however I am glad that I found out the truth about this company.

BEWARE of Santander and their deceptive and unethical practices.  I plan to report them to the Missouri Attorney General and sue them for harassment.

Well I can see why you had to go with a Sub-Prime lender.

Despite the fact of a few late payments I have kept up on the account.
- Read your loan agreement and find the area that says you only have to make payments when you can.  Show us the section that says that if you become behind they MUST help you?

For instance, I made a payment a few weeks ago that should have brought my account current, but instead I received a bill stating that I am 39 days late and online it states that I am 51 days late.
- I would bet that if you reviewed your account such as your exact date and amount of payment(s) you would probably find that you are not current.  Most likely your payment either didn't cover your entire past due(previous late fees?) or it didn't reach them by the due date.  As for the date descrepency, of course it will be different.  You don't get statements the day they are generated.  It could take 12 days between the time it was generated and the time you get it.  So if you looked on-line the day you got the statement it of course would be your current past due days.

My credit is being destroyed as we speak.

Yep late payments will do that.

I am extremely disturbed with all the complaints on the BBB and the RIPOFF Report, however I am glad that I found out the truth about this company.
- And isn't it amazing how just about every single complaint is written by people who are LATE with their payments?

I plan to report them to the Missouri Attorney General and sue them for harassment.
- Harrassement?  Calling an account holder or their references is not harrassment.  You don't want them to call your friends..make your payments.  As for suing, you might as well just throw the money it would take to sue them out the window.  Or better yet(again)...make your payments.
