After being bombarded immediately once walking out of our hotel on the first day in Las Vegas we found ourselves listening to a timeshare pitch and all the freebies for doing so. We were promised $100 slot play, tickets to a show, $100 dinner voucher and discounts on several other shows. What a joke that turned out to be, the slot play had to be played at a certain hole in the wall casino in which could only be played on two particular machines and you had to spend the entire hundred dollar voucher before any payout would be done. On top of that in order to get any payout you had to hit a jackpot of $4000 or more and if you did you would only get that $100 as a payout or something close to that. It was a joke to say the least. The dinner certificate was in the form of a gift card and was presented as if it can be used like a credit card anywhere which was far from the truth. It can only be used at select locations that we have never heard of nor come across to use so 5 months later we still have not been able to use it. The tickets to the show some what panned out. Everyhting promised turned out to have strings attached and was not anywhere near the way it pitched it.

Once we watched the entire presentation so we could receive these far from awesome gifts we were walked out to a sitting area with a ton of other people after we told the sales rep we were not interested. He continued to urge us to sit down and explain why we were not interested so we appeased him and it was almost uncomfortable. This rep would not take no for an answser and said in order for us to get the gifts (mind you we are now like 3hrs into this) we needed to talk to some other gentleman first. The other gentlemans name was Ernest and he too was a fast talker and would not take no for an answer and then he began to sweeten the pot by offering us a paid trip to Hawaii. Ernest also stressed the ability to rent out our timeshare on Craigslist to make a healthy income off of and it would pay for itself. After declining several times we began to think that since we were planning a trip to Hawaii next year anyway that maybe we should do this being we could get vacations for a week almost anywhere for $299. That was what they sold everyone on in which has also turned out to be a lie, their resorts are still over $1200 to stay for just 3 days.

Back to the story, we finally agreed thinking it would be just the same as us paying for our trip next year however now we get a vacation resort to use all over the world. We were only told that we would be responsible for taxes. Later to find out we are not only responsible for taxes but also up to almost $1000 in other fees that go with it. In order to even plan our Hawaii trip we need to send them $370. We do not get to select our exact dates for the trip, the hotel can charge us up to $185 per person as a fee. We are limited to which airport we can fly out of, we can only fly out on a Monday or Tuesday and has to depart between 3pm and 10pm. None of this was mentioned at all and they do not give you any documentation that shows this info until after you sign all the contracts. When you try to read over the documents they rush you along.

Since our purchase of this timeshare on several occasions I have called Sapphire Resorts to make sense of the benefits and how to use the timeshare and have gotten no assistance. I have tried on several occasions to get reservations for the $299 for a week stay at a resort so I can put on Craigslist to make money off of it. This has not been the case being you can not get a location anywhere for the $299 unless it is featured on their last minute getaway section and it has to be done within 30 days and no places are guaranteed to be that low in price. Sapphire partners with RCI in which they also sell you on the ability to use all their properties at a really cheap rate and that was a lie as well. I have talked to RCI several times and they do not offer any real discounts. On a trip we went on my wife got us a hotel $115 cheaper off of Orbitz than what RCI was going to do it for. I called Ernest a few times and never did he answer. I emailed him asking about renting out our timeshare for an income and he gave my contact to a gentleman who wanted to charge me $200 do find renters, and $200 to do a contract with him. He also told me that Ernest can not legally speak with me after the transaction even though he gave me his business card and said call me anytime. This gentleman after finding out I was with Sapphire Resorts said it is almost impossible to rent out Sapphire properties being they charge so much for rooms and they do not allow time for anyone to plan a trip, it almost has to be spur of the moment and they still charge over 3x of a normal hotel. Sapphire has not followed through on any of their promises in what they preach in their sales presentation. I would love for someone in a legal field to sit through one of their presentations and go through with contract to see hwo deceitful this company is. If I knew we could have cancelled in 3 days I would have done it in a heartbeat. Its now been almost 5 months and I am screwed.
