i found a canon xl-2 camera listed on craigslist in california, and sent the following sarah barker an email describing my interest which was listed for 850.00 with accessories. she had 2 pictures of the camera one with accessories one without.

her reply:

This Canon XL2 is in mint condition. Everything has been tested and is in perfect working condition. The lens is protected by UV filter. It had only a few hours of use.

i then emailed her not knowing of the tnt policies, and asked her to send me a link or details on how it works:

hi sarah that sounds good, but i would like a little more info about tnt i am not familiar with that company at all, if you could send me a link telling me how they work, and the procedure they have i would appreciate it.

she then responded with the following email:

Bellow are payment and delivery details:
A. First you send me your shipping information ( name and address).
1. After i receive the shipping info, i'll go to a TNT Location and leave the product into your name and with your address as the intended receiver.
2. TNT will check the product, also the legal papers to see that everything is OK with it.
B. You will receive a notification from TNT as a confirmation that the product is in their custody .
1. After that, you will have to make a money transfer via Western Union on an TNT agent name and send the payment information to TNT.
2. TNT will verify the Money Transfer, and if everything is in order, they will deliver the product to your door step.
3. After you will receive the product and you will be completely satisfied
with it, you will instruct TNT to release the payment to me, so i can collect the money.
The shipping taxes are allready included in the prices, so u will have not to pay any extra charges!

at this point i started to question the legitamacy of the whole deal, and whether this was a fraudelent claim.

after googling her name with tnt, i was directed here where i saw that others had posted the same scam, word for word, but in different cities and areas.

I feel relieved to know that others took the steps to ensure some security for me by posting on this website, and feel that if i can help others as well, by posting my accurate experience with this person that hopefully it will prevent someone else from becoming a victim of fraud.

i sent a final email explaining i would be reporting and that the transaction would not be initiated.
