After trying to refinance our home and being rejected due to lack of qualifications, I was unexpectedly contacted by Sam Rossi, from Save Point Financial. He assured me he could help me with a government program. I do not know how he found out I was looking to refinance, but it had to be from the internet.

I supplied the requested information, and soon received a "Loan Modification Disclosure & Agreement". It led me to believe we were approved, had received a government grant of $3401.50, and needed to send them an additional $3498.00.

Once we did that, our interest would drop from 11% to 3.75%. Sam said I would not need to make anymore payments to the mortgage company until afer everything was finished, by the first of December.

I hate to admit stupidity. I should have done better "due dilligence", but I was so excited about getting this done, and Sam led me to believe he is a Christian, so I sent part of the money. He let me split the amount due into two payments, so I included a post-dated check for the balance.

When it was close to time for the second check to be deposited, I requested it be held, and  sent two smaller checks.

When the first one cleared, I contacted Sam & told him, and he emailed a one sentence responce.

That was the last I heard from Sam for about two weeks, so I started doing my "due dilligence", and came to the conclusion we had been "ripped off". I went to the bank and stopped payment on the last check, and was in the process of making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, when guess what? Good 'Ole Sam called! He again assured me everything was going well, and he needed a copy of my bank statement. I faxed it to him.

Now everything is silent. Sam wont answer, nor return calls. No one answers the company phone. We were only one month behind when this started, now as of Nov. 1st., we owe for four months, and we just got our forclosure notice yesterday. we will probably have to declare bankruptcy due to "Good 'Ole Sam"!

Today, I first heard of "ripoffreport.com", so I can do better next time!
