On May 2, 2017 I contacted SCBN for prescription assistance as advertised. I was told it would cost $50 for an application fee plus $35 for the first month and every month thereafter. It was explained that I would have to wait 3-5 weeks before I received my medication. Before I signed up I had explained the reason why I was enrolling.

My insurance company would not cover my Apidra insulin w/o doing a step down program for another type of insulin.  I explained that I had no problems with this for 2 yrs. and would not switch. Now would have been the time to tell me that they could not help me, but no. $35 for this insulin was much better than the $600 per month I was paying. I returned the information to them after my physician completed the forms.

I kept checking back and was told that they were working on it.   They requested a letter from my insurance company saying that they wouldn't pay for it.  Returned to them dated 3/21.  Finally on 6/27 I was informed that my insurance would pay for Apidra ($177 co-pay which was still too much), but they would check to see if I would still qualify. Told me that I qualified for Apidra by my insurance on 3/24.  Unfortunately no one notified me of that fact.  They said they would call me back.  They left a message on 6//28 that they needed to talk with me.

I called on 6/29 and was informed that I did not qualify and I would not be getting a refund (already paid $120).  I lost my temper and told them that I felt this was not an acceptable practice.  If you are paying for a service you should receive that service, not just aggravation.  In my opinion, this is nothing but a SCAM, and I told the representative that fact.
