I am a recent college graduate a little down on luck. I am looking to become a better more experienced person fellow co-workers and/or employees can respect. I responded to this article in the newspaper by chance.

When I first contacted these people, I asked for the companies name, being the well informed college grad., so I could do some research on this company I was going to interview with. I went to all of the "interviews" and finally found out the company's name on the third and final "interview." So, not having any information except the jumbled up "company history" the interviewer told us. Which turns out to being not much history at all. Most of the time, this man told us about his so called past experiences and things that happened in his life instead of learning something about the company in which the group and I were applying too.

It all seemed to good to be true, but something still didn't feel right about it. One thing I did notice was the Better Business Bureau plaque on the wall. I know what the real member plaques look like and this one seemed different for some reason. After I returned home, I started in on my research of this so called "Phoenix International" perfume company. I couldn't find one article, company website, or link to anything relating to this place except this rip-off website I had my doubts about. Not to mention I couldn't find anything about the so called owner, Larry Hahn, or this Mark Laricey person they made a point to name. So, I tried to find some shread of info about them with the Better Business Bureau, since they had one of their "member plaques" on the wall. I search for their phone number and address on the BBB website and even called to find out something. The BBB has no record of this company. Not even in any of the locations they said they had offices in outside of Texas. Sounds rather fishy doesn't it?

After reading the posts on ripoffreport.com, come to find out, I was about to be this company's next victim. It makes me wonder how people can prey on other people like this. I am an Aggie and no matter what people say about us one thing will always stick with me and that is our code of honor, it states: "An Aggie will never lie, cheat, or steal, nor do they tolerate others who do." I think this is a motto everyone should adopt as their own. I do not plan to be one of the people to be scammed by this company, hopefully you will not be either.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Another piece of advice

AUTHOR: Shannon - (U.S.A.)

I've noticed that these MLM "jobs" seem to place very similar ads in the paper. They usually say "Growing company needs 20-25 good people for management training" or "Fun, fast-paced company needs 20-25 people for management". What gives them away is the "20-25 people" thing. I have been working since I was 16 years old and have had several positions with different companies and NONE of them were ever looking for 20-25 new people. Not even start up companies. Another good clue is if you are among 10 or more people who are "interviewing" at the same time as you. I really wish these scammers would just shrivel up and die already.

Good instincts to spot the con before they had you out walking around in the street selling colored water as perfume!

Now, you only have 99,999,999 more scams to avoid.

Think carefully. Don't let people rush you into fast deals. Don't believe anything that strangers try to tell you. And, stay the hell away from anything that sounds like a sure-thing, can't-fail business opportunity.

Oh, and now that you found this site, check it regularly to stay up on the current fraud and con games.

I'll tell you, you would simply be amazed at some of the elaborate scams that are going on in the world today!
