Schneider Finance Deceptive Practices Green Bay, Wisconsin

I lease-purchased a truck through Schneider finance. Overall, I found their practices to be deceptive. You are not permitted to test drive the truck beforehand nor have it checked out by a mechanic. After you've spent time and money getting to Green Bay to see your truck for the first time, if you don't like it, you're told to go home with no compensation for your wasted time and travel expenses.

The HVUT was automatically paid for me and added to the cost of my truck without my permission which I did not like. The contract was not explained to me and signed by me in private; it was done together with another lease-purchaser which I did not like.

The payments were deducted from my weekly settlement but if I did not earn enough in one week to cover the payment, I was charged a late fee after ten days even though I had no way of know that it was not deducted. My settlement statements were mailed to me and since I could only afford to go home every three months, I could not check my statements to monitor whether or not a payment was deducted. When statements eventually became available online, I did not fare much better because I rarely had internet access. They refused to alert drivers when a payment was not deducted to help them avoid the fee.

A couple of months before my lease was up, I was told via email "We are changing your lease terms effective now." I found out later that this was actually a loan refinance that was costing me $275 which they conveniently failed to mention. I had sent several emails asking how the loan payoff was going to work and have yet to receive a straight answer.

This company is disorganized and unprofessional and I would not recommend lease-purchasing a truck through them unless you are very desperate to have your own truck. That is why I went against my better judgment and did it but it has been a very unpleasant experience.
