My report begins with how this all started. Sometime in 2000, I put in for a loan from MBNA to help my husband get a laptop from them. The original loan was $2,700. A few months later, I left the military after completing my contract. Unbeknownst to me, it was very difficult finding a new job after I had left the navy.

So, months would go by with me unable to pay my bill. About 3 years later, around October 2003, I lost my full time job and was once again unable to pay my bill. MBNA then decided to write off my account and it was purchased originally by The Law Offices of Brian K. Leevy.

I was called numerous times by Brian and his associates, demanding their money. I told them many times that I was unable to pay them the full amount they demanded at the time, but I tried on numerous occasions to ask if I could send payments instead. The told me that they can not and would not accept payments.

So, they kept calling and calling, sometimes 3 times per hour. Finally, after being tired of being called, I picked up and once again told them I was unable to give them the entire amount. They asked me, in a patronizing tone 'hey, little girl, is your mommy or daddy there?' which I was like 'excuse me?' I am 29 years old and I do not sound like a child. Not only that, but they insisted that I ask my friends, family and acquaintances for the money to pay them off. I told them no one I knew in my family or my friends had the money either.

Then a few weeks ago, I received a letter from Scott Lowery Law Office about the same debt I owed, by the same creditor: CACV of Colorado, LLC.

I then called THEM and told them I could not afford to pay them. They told me I should sell my car or take out a loan on my car, which is no longer in my name after giving up my ownership to my husband, so technically, the car is now his and only his. They were using outdated information obtained from my credit report, which was one saying we were still paying on the car, but which we were not, having paid it off in 2004.

I am sick and tired of these people calling and harassing not only me, but my parents, who do not even live with me and my husband's parents who do not live with us. I am at a loss of what I should do. This loan has been hanging over my head since 2000.

Ok you were harrassed by Brian K Leevy and Associates over a debt. however they ARE IN NO WAY associated with Scott Lowery Law office. They are someone totally different.

Now one of 2 things could have happened with your account. The first, your account could have been "double sold" meaning that it was sold to one collection agency and then sold again to another by mistake. THIS IS IN NO WAY the collection agencies fault or wrong doing, that is MBNA and their brokers faults.

The second could be that Scott Lowery purchased your debt from Leevy's office to try to collect on it. Either way the best thing to do is to try to pay. Listen to what they have to say, know that there are options. which they even suggested to you by asking about loans. trust me there is a way even if it is 25$ a month. There are REAL LIFE attorneys on staff that DO HAVE jurisdiction in multiple states
