Scrap INC OR Sell Your Cats Direct SCRAP Is Not A Refiner... Lancaster Pennsylvania

 I read Tim's complaint about "Scrap INC OR Sell Your Cats Direct SCRAP", where he makes claims he  sent in converters to get refined - and then they would not pay for shipping - and then states that these guys are "experts at ripping people off." Well, here's some breaking News about Tim from Townshend VT - - this is the same "Tim" that runs www.converterguy.com and www.converterguys.net !!!! So, what I'm saying is that "Tim" would NEVER have any reason to send his converters over to Scrap Inc or Sell Your Cats Direct SCRAP  (i.e., a direct competitor to his business) - - it is my opinion that his only intention in writing the complaint was to smear the good reputation of that business - since these complaints are NEVER removed by ripoffreport.com. I do know from a few years ago that Tim bought a load of converters that had - unknown to him - been refined. After he uncovered his error, he then tried to sell them to other unknowledable folks! If anything, my opinion is that this complaint by Tim shows the extent he will go to in order to smear the competition. I am not affiliated with Scrap Inc or Converterguy(s) - - but I just thought that the unsuspecting customer reading Tim's complaint should know whats going on here. If you look up the converterguy.com or converterguys.net site - it only gives the location as VT. But if you dig deeper in google you will see that the location is in fact Townshend, VT.

Hi, my name is Jon and I am an employee of S.C.R.A.P. Inc.  I have worked for this company for about 4 years and a large part of my job is making sure that we maintain top notch customer service.  Over the past week since I became aware of this report I have checked all company records and talked to every employee who deals with customers and no one has any remembrance of dealing with a situation like the one described in this report.  We have only ever received calls from one single number in Townshend Vermont over the past years, and those were all from a competing business owner who calls time to time, seemingly for the sole purpose of wasting our time and not with real business propositions or questions.       

Coincidentally this individual who does call from Townshend Vermont is named Tim as well and he has a website similar to ours where he purchases converters from people who ship to him through the mail.  Obviously I cannot be sure if this is the same individual who wrote this report because he gives very little information but it does seem in character for him considering all the other things this individual has done over the past several years to try and discredit our company. 

As far back as 4 years ago he copied large portions of text from our website and pasted it on his in an attempt to boost his SEO and rankings on search engines.  Also, we uploaded videos to Youtube within the last month and interestingly within a week or so each one had over a 100 dislikes and multiple negative comments from international people who could not speak clear English which seems a lot like spam.  Lastly, this individual has slandered and badmouthed us on group texts where customers have texted both companies to try and get a price quote on converters.  Even though our company’s price quotes were higher than his on each occasion he would text back the customers saying that our prices were low and not to sell to us because we were an untrustworthy company.

On one of these occasions several weeks ago the customer listened to Tim and sent 30+ units to him instead of shipping to us.  This customer called us about a week later and said that Tim had failed to pay him the agreed prices and that he wanted Tim to ship the units to us.  Within 24 hours of us receiving this shipment we had sent the customer a receipt and full payment.  Tim then texted us a threatening message stating , “that move cost u!” and less than a week later this Ripoff Report Complaint was filed. 

As stated before I cannot prove that the Tim from Townshend Vermont who I have talked about is the same Tim from Townshend Vermont who filed this report but it does seem possible at the very least.  I can provide proof of every situation I have mentioned above but I would rather not post that information to the internet because I cannot be 100% sure that this is the same person and I don’t want to slander anyone. 

I can tell you that our company is not a refinery and we have never claimed to be one.  We simply buy converters, decan them and work with a refinery to get our customers the highest possible value for their scrap converters.  Also I would like to point out that this report states that we never received the converter he allegedly shipped.  If this report is genuine, how are we supposed to pay, test or do anything with a converter we never received?  I am aware of two different times where our customer’s converters were lost in transit and both times we paid the customer for the units as long as they had received a quote from us ahead of time and there was obvious evidence that the box was damaged in transit.  In both of these instances we did not receive the full value back from UPS because the packages were uninsured but we still paid the customer the full amount.
