Up and coming artist beware before being "booked" as and opening act with this company. I am a music artist and just like many other artist i was looking for an opportunity to showcase my talent so when I heard about Sevyn Streeter in Chicago scheduled for Jan. 13, 2017 at the Promontory show that was looking for opening acts I jumped at the change to send in my music that would hopefully lead to me landing a spot in the show. I sent my music and the next day I received an email showing interest and offered me a 20 minute opening act spot in the show. So of course I said yes.

First I took the liberty of contacting some musicians to play and back round singers so that we could put on an amazing show. I contacted the person from the company just to let them know i'm interested in the show i'm just putting together a band to play with me. I was contacted later that day saying that I could not use a band it had to be backing track only. Disappointed but still optimistic to put on a good show I called all the band members told them i could not use them for the show. I booked a DJ and and dancers to replace the band and kept the same back round singers. After being in contact with the agent on a consistent bases I was ready to send over the contract and told them when i would make my initial payment of $200. When I sent the contract i was contacted the next day saying that the spot was not available anymore and the artist that was booked was still waiting to be approved and if that artist was not approved then they would definitely contact me and then the agent sent a few emails also apologizing for the inconvenience.

So once again I had to contact everyone I had lined up to preform to tell them we would not be preforming. Sometime later they offered me to open up at another show for another artist and I accepted that offer then I received another email saying that the artist they gave my spot to was not approved and it was back available if I wanted it. I contacted everyone again to let them know we were back in the show, I made flyers to promote my performance in the show, told friends and family about it and sent my $200 payment via PayPal as a gift as they requested to sean@webookbands.com. I emailed the agent who's name is brendan mcqueeney letting him know I sent the payment and i was inquiring about receiving the link to sale tickets for the show. After I submitted the money and sent the contract (which has a copy of my ID and Debit card on it) I did not hear from the agent.

After days and days of no communication I requested to have a refund and told them i was no longer interested in preforming i still had not heard from them. I contacted the company via personal email and I sent an email via Paypal. I was not contacted so I attempted to dispute the payment via paypal but since it was sent as a gift (which was their request) it can not be disputed you have to contact the party to send the money back but thats a step I had already taken and had no response from the company. So now I'm out of $200 I have to cancel the people I booked once again and lost a large amount of time preparing for a show that Im not participating in. This company is definitely scamming up and coming artist and its not right.
