To all who are even considering joining Legal Shield (formerly Prepaid Legal Services Inc.): I joined Pre-Paid Legal as an Associate in 2009. Almost a week after becoming a part of the sales team and having a services membership, I was involved in a car accident and was threatened to be sued by the other party involved. I immediately asked Sean Mikael (my sponsor and "trusted" mentor at the time) for the number I was supposed to call in order to receive my consultation services from Parker Stanburry, the law firm for which Pre-Paid Legal has a partnership with. Sean Mikael immediately gave me a number to call, saying that he knew the man personally and that he would take care of me.

 Almost two years later, I gave Parker Stanburry a call to complain about the attorney that Sean Mikael had provided me as the attorney was doing a MISERABLE job at handling my case and rarely kept in contact with me. Upon speaking with Parker Stanburry, I found out that they had no record of this man even working for them; he wasn't even a part of their firm. Sean Mikael, one of the biggest and most successful names in the business, just passed me off to one of his buddies for obvious personal reasons (he knew the guy and was just trying to throw him some work) and never once told me that he wasn't a part of the law firm that I have been paying a membership for for the past 2+ years. I am now stuck with a terrible attorney who won't even call me back or send me a check that he owes me since I won the lawsuit.

The worst part is that the day of my accident, this attorney Sean Mikael connected me with sent his assistant to my home to take down my information and handle my case. I was so impressed with this that I told ALL of my family and friends they need to buy the membership, with Sean Mikael standing by and hearing my "heartwarming" story time and time again. Not ONCE did he tell me that he had lied to me and that the attorney I was bragging about the whole time was not even a member of the Parker Stanburry firm. He allowed me to tell a lie to my loved ones just so he can make a quick buck in his own pocket. I have made multiple calls to the Pre-Paid customer services lines to complain about Sean Mikael, even at one time speaking with the executive customer service manager. Her answer to me today was, "Sir, what do you want us to do? Have him fired? We can't do that. He is an independent associate." So what they are telling me is that it is okay for him to get off scott free for lying to me and deceiving me because he is a big gun and brings in too much revenue for them to want to do anything about it? Maybe?

According to them, he has been notified of the complaints from me, but yet I am still seeing his named plastered all over the Legal Shield world and is still sitting up on panels at the biggest conferences in the country, making money off of countless of people and possibly deceiving more and more, like he deceived me. If he truly did feel remorse for what he had done, wouldn't an APOLOGY have been in line for him? After all, I was one of his "brightest and best speaking associates" as he once told me. Don't myself, my family, and friends deserve that at least? Nothing of that nature has ever been done by Sean Mikael. For that, I write this post. If ANYONE out there is even considering working for Sean Mikael at this point? Don't.
