My daughter (18) was connected by this company and offered a one month trail period to review modeling offers in our area. She was told it was a modeling agency. She was also assured she could cancel the service at anytime. My daughter canceled before the one month trail period was up. There were no jobs in our area. Besides, I was not going to have my daugheter exposed online like this. It is too dangerous.

My daughter was told that her account had been canceled and would not be charged. It is now the end of November. I was charged $44.90. Plus, they keep charging my credit card $9.98 a month. They even gave my account number to a comany called True Rewards and they also keep charging my account $9.98 a month. All this since July 2005.
I call both companies every month and they just hang up on me. I have disputted these charges and refered them to the freud department.

They are advertising for telephone sells help on Craigslist. This company has got to be put out of business. It is a SCAM!

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

Discover Employee

AUTHOR: Derek - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, February 01, 2007

Discover can only medieat situations such as these. All we can do is verify the company is complying with thier terms and policies. When the credit card is given, there is nothing we can do to override the conditions that the purchase was agreed on (and yes, if the card number is given, all terms, said or unsaid are agreed to).

If it was a cancellation, we need proof of cancelation in order to charge the company back (ie, certified letter, usps would show delevered on the date and if date falls in range of cancelation policy, you are set).

Going further then the company's policy requres a legal entity to dictate the validity of it. Discover is not such an entity, we are a final instution and our bound by laws that dictate when you make a purchase, we can only do our best to determine (via documentation) the company complied w/ thier terms and conditions. If you have no proof of cancelation, and the company says it never happened, then you must deal w/ them in court or another means, there is nothing Discover CAN (not wont, but can) do in this case.

And in regards to giving permission to charge, if the account number is given to them, they have full authority to charge, so dont give an account number if you do not intend any charges to be placed.

#7 REBUTTAL Owner of company

I apologize for your experience, but Search for Talent is not a scam

AUTHOR: Igor - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 28, 2006

My name is Igor Reiant and I am the CEO of Search for Talent. I'd like to personally apologize for any problems you may have encountered with our service. We've worked with over a million clients in the last two years and have designed our sales and customer support procedures to accommodate every one of them. However, as with any company, problems and mix-ups do occur, and we do our utmost to solve them and prevent similar issues from happening in the future.

We are not hiding anything. When new clients sign up with Search for Talent, they pay a small fee for shipping and handling of their welcome package, then have a period of time to test out the site to see if they wish to continue with us. If the member does not want to be a part of the service and pay the monthly fee, then they must cancel during this trial period. Members of Search for Talent have the ability to cancel online at any time and send questions through the site directly to Customer Support.

If a client prefers to speak to the Customer Support Department by phone, our toll free phone number is provided during the initial sale and on the website. By calling 1-800-710-4210, you will be directly routed through to a real person who can answer questions, provide refunds and help you with any problems you may have. There are no phone prompts or mazes to go through, and wait time typically does not exceed three to five minutes. I apologize if you had an unpleasant experience with Customer Support, but know that such behavior is against company policy and we do correct it whenever it occurs.

Search for Talent is constantly working to improve our Customer Support Department, Sales Department and our website as a whole. We post thousands of new casting calls every week for people working to break into the entertainment industry. Search for Talent has also signed up hundreds of Casting Directors and Photographers who contact our members every day with upcoming opportunities. We are consistently growing and expanding, but it's not because we're a scam it's because Search for Talent works.

Thank you

Sincerely,
Igor Reiant
CEO Search for Talent

Contact both companies in writing

AUTHOR: Giselle - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 28, 2005

This is what I would do: I would write both companies via a trackable method and tell them the service was cancelled in July (or in the case of Tru Rewards, never authorized). Tell them they do not have permission to debit your card and to cancel your account and remove your personal informatoin from their files immediately. Demand a refund for past debits that were not authorized.

Going forward, if they continue to debit your account, you can use the letters (that you sent certified mail, return receipt requested or ups or fedex, etc) as proof to your cc company that these folks are not authorized.

If this fails, I don't know what to tell you other than see an attorney.

Discover Card is protecting the company not me the consumer

AUTHOR: Melanie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 27, 2005

I contacted Discover Card in August and disputed the July charges. I was notified that Casting Talent told them I ok'd the charges and that they are legitmate. The charges went back on my account. Now every month I get charged and every month I complain. I even closed the orginal account and they charged the new account. I can't get any cooperation from Discover. The company will not speak to me. I am at a loss what to do. This is going to ruin my credit. I will never use discover card either. They have done nothing to protect my rights. I have even asked that the fruad department at Discover get involved. NOTHING is ever done! I now have a company True Rewrds that is now charging on my account. They told me they got my card number from Casting Talent. This is a real scam that won't go away. I can't believe that I have no rights.
