I recently became layed off and was looking for work at monster.com when I found the phone number for seachfortalent.com. My son has a friend who had done some "extra" work, so I thought it would be a good thing to make some money while I was still looking for a regular job.

The ad said local movie extra jobs, all looks. So I called. Their representative told me I could cancel anytime, wouldn't be billed for 2 weeks, so there was no risk. He said I could look for casting calls and if I wasn't happy, to unsubscribe. Reluctantly, I gave him my credit card numbers. Big Mistake! The really messed up part is, I need money to come in, not go out! At any rate, I've been billed 4 times... $44.90, $9.95, $9.98 by truetravelrewards and another $9.95 for a total of $74.78... ...so far!

My bank tells me even if I get another account they might still be able to bill me! My wife is furious with me and I feel like a moron. There is nowhere on the website to cancel my account. If you call them up you get bounced around to some recorded message with horrible music which tells you to hang on. I was on the phone for nearly 2 hours and punched several buttons trying to get a real person.

When you actually do get a person, they ask if it's the first time you've called and when you say "no I'd like to cancel my membership" they say they have to forward you to a customer service rep, and you get bounced back to the same voice-mail hell. My bank told me to e-mail them. They have a tab on the website which says "e-mail", but it's blank. If it weren't for Steve's report I wouldn't have even been able to do that. I really don't expect my e-mail to make much difference, but since my bank recommended it, I did. Now I only hope they don't drain me dry for complaining!

thanx for the warning

AUTHOR: Bill - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 09, 2005

I just called them. I was fired recently and was looking through the classifieds and then I saw the add. I responded to an add in the New Haven, CT area. Everything sounded good until he got around to asking for my credit card number. I've been scammed too much to not look first before I leap. I was given the same line about not being charged for two weeks. The guy was saying how I could earn 100 to 300 dollars a day. But still, one should never pay out for employment - that is a cardinal rule. I decided to check the ripoffreport to see if there were any past complaints.

Suspicions confirmed.
