Company will not provide service for an appliance purchased at their store, Sears. The service agreement was purchased and paid in full. The service department when contacted to set up a work order, did troubleshooting activities for 3 business days while food and medication was ruined. The troubleshooting did not work and I was transferred to schedule an appointment for service.

After multiple calls I was given a date of one month from the date of release from the troubleshooting end. This was unacceptable. I was then advised I would have someone calling within 24 hrs to let me know when they would be out as I urged the emergency situation this had brought about with spoiled medication. After again, multiple calls and hours on the phone, I was able to get a rep to tell me that I would have someone out within 24 hrs.

Once again, after 24 hrs. I was calling again to advise no one was at my property. I spoke with 7 different reps and requested not to use their service, but rather contract a 3rd party or outside vendor. They told me it was not an option and that I had to wait. I advised I would be submitting my medication bill of over $3,400.00 to which they of course denied. The medication spoiled although I had already taken it after it had spoiled and confirmed with my pharmacist to discontinue immediately.

The medication could poison those that take it, especially if taken intreveniously, (which it was). We had an emergency shipment sent as the medication must be taken regularly; however; it still isn't able to be kept at a regular temperature so I have opted to have it kept at a relative's home. The insurance company will not pay for this additional medication as it wasn't needed due to use as the physician's prescription alotted, but rather thrown away due to a neglectful warranty companies inability to schedule within the terms of their contract.

After speaking with 4 departments and lodging a corporate complaint, I was able to set up for the use of a outside vendor, or state of service as they call it. They have pre-warned me that they may or may not pay for the repair and they may or may not pay for food and medicatioin loss as I have chosen to use another vendor. Now I will be fighting that my vendor is qualified, the services that the professional says my appliance needs are warranted and that I really did have to throw away food and medication. Luckily, I am great at documentation and ready for another fight.

 Alike many other warranty scams that are uncovered; this company may have a box chain name or a corporate contact to make it look pretty, but it is still the same beast. Until all of these companies are destroyed, there will continue to be yachts that those like Bernie Madoff sailed the oceans with stolen from hard working Americans.
