We thought is sounded great and decided to g for it. We were in the store debating on buying a new lawn mower with no hassle. We decided to speak with one of the Sears Sales Clerks about the pro and cons of the program. She explained it was a "Lease to Buy" option. After listening to her pitch and telling us how great it was, we applied to buy/lease to own the lawn mower. After she took all of our information including salary, social security number, etc and punched it into her computer, she then tells us we have to put 1760.00 down and also pay an additional 333.33 down for the first months payment.

Then our next five payments would be 333.33 per month to payoff the purchase. We agreed to those terms with no issue and were told by the Sears Sales Clerk this would complete our purchase. Unfortunately this is not the end of the story. We were drafted two additional payments of 333.33 before we realized there was a problem and called Why Not Lease It to resolve the matter. We were informed we would have to pay an additional 1040.00 in order to "Buyout our lease" and the two payments of 333.33 which were overpayments would not go towards the "Buyout". In addition we were told it was our responsibility to call the company and tell them we wanted to "Buyout".

I am in utter disbelief at how this matter was handled. We now have to make two more payments of 520.00 each to own this lawn mower. This lawn mower was originally priced at 3,700.00 Once we complete this purchase we will have paid approximately 6,200.00 for it. This has been the biggest ripoff we have EVER dealt with in our life. We were mislead from the very beginning of the work go. We have bought many, many appliances and lawn mower's from Sears throughout the years and paid cash fro them. This once we decided to lease to own, believing it was not credit or a credit card, (which we did not want). We trusted Sears and let me emphasize we trusted Sears but NO LONGER.

In my opinion this is nothing but a Loan Shark way of doing business and taking advantage of "The Little Man". We will never step foot out n a Sears Store or purchase anything from them again. The Why Not Least it program is an affiliate of Sears and I personally hold them responsible for not willing to work with us and allow the additional two payments we made go towards the "Buyout". If I had not called this would have continued for 18 months according to the representative I spoke with on the ph. I will suffice this by saying, BUYER BEWARE!!! This ihas made us emotionally and physically sick on our stomachs.

We contacted Sears Why Not Lease it Program because we noticed our checking account was continually being drafted for payment of a lawn mower we purchased through the Lease to buy option. They were unwilling to help or make any adjustments with our "Buyout" even though we had already paid 666.66 over the initial draft agreement . We have currently paid them 4080. 00 and are now told we will have to pay an additional 1,040.00 in order to complete our purchase/ buyout. In all seriousness we have already paid them 4080.00 for a 3.700.00 lawn mower and now we can't even own this thing until we pay an additional 1040.00 in a two payment plan!!!! We feel we were taken advantage of and ripped off. We conveniently never received any correspondence from Sears or Why Not Lease it notifying us out term was at the end, they just kept drafting out account.

Things happen if life, we all get busy, wouldn't it be the Professional and right thing to do just to send their customers a notice, email or text with a simple reminder?? I'll answer this by saying Absolutely Yes, it is the only way to run a reputable and honest business. This experience has been awful an beyond disgusting, we feel we were taken advantage of. We are in disbelief at the unwillingness to help with any adjustments or be given credit for our overpayments. We will never purchase or step foot back in a Sears Department Store again. This is how we were rewarded for being loyal customers for many years. Never Again!!!!
