I went to Sears at Valley View Mall in Dallas TX on 7/14/13 to lease a washer through the Why Not Lease It Program. It clearly states that no credit check is involved. I gave the salesperson all of my information. She then put it into the computer.

She then told me that I was not approved. I asked why. She then proceeded to give me a small piece of paper that was printed out that stated that more information is needed for processing my application. I called the number on the slip and was told by a Customer Service Rep that I was declined.

I asked her why. She stated that she did not have that information and I needed to contact Sears@whynotleaseit.com to find out the reason. It is now 7/17/13 and I have still not heard from the company.

Please take a look at the website: http://www.whynotleaseit.com/sears/

This is indeed a scam!!!!

Interested consumer of program

AUTHOR: Interested party - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 17, 2015

I'm just a consumer and looking to purchase through the company I could only find information here so far. I too have been approved. I see you paid out your whynotleaseit looks to me much better option then your local rent to own places. Other reports have me confused. Could you explain or something for everyone about how much the cost ends up being vs price in store cash purchase? I see it's a 5 month program on a lease. Did your lease payments go toward the purchase to own it? This question has been hard to find out not wanting any of your personal lease info just general info. So far only scam parts I've read have been credit denials nothing I read has been enough on this subject. I think this will help a lot of consumers. I just found out about this program and so far looks good to me. Thank you very much in advance hope this us allowed to be asked.

We've had no problems with them

My husband and I recently got a brand new Samsung stove with convection oven and a matching over-the-range Samsung microwave through the Why Not Lease It program at Sears and we have had no problems whatsoever.  We went into Sears already knowing which appliances we wanted to order.  They took our basic info and immediately had us approved for $1500, which was exactly the amount we needed for the appliances that we wanted.  We even got the extended 5-year warranty.  We now only have a few payments left and then they will be all paid off.  Once these are paid off, we are thinking about going back and getting a new steam washer and dryer to replace the ones we've had for the last 10 years.  The Why Not Lease it program is definitely much more affordable than places like Rent A Center and Aaron's, who will charge you at least double what the items are worth and you'll be paying on them for a good 2 years before they're paid off.  This is definitely not a scam. And, no, I do not work for Sears or Why Not Lease it.  I am just a satisfied customer.

Sears Lease agreement

AUTHOR: Edith802 - ()

POSTED: Monday, December 16, 2013

There are more problems for the why not lease it program then you think. They aren't really helping anyone due to the fact that they are not targeting the right clintle. They should be excepeting the debit express card issued by social security as that is going to be about 70% of people looking for those lease agreements but if you have one of those cards you cannot get a lease agreement I have tried to explain to them how to increase their sales through the why not lease it plan and why not lease it is not interested in hearing what I have to say.

That tells me that they don't care about the customers just the money. I will not be a repeat costumer due to this. As for the people that didn't get approved because of credit. What sales accosiates do is they sign you up with a credit card and when you don't get approved for that they tell you that you didn't not quilify for the lease either. They tried that with me up at the Sears in Burlington VT and I called them out on it by informing them that it states no credit required. I then made them do the lease option and got apporved.

Make them sign up under the lease option as you do not need to sign up for a credit card to get the lease option that is just the assciate trying to get commission. Now that i have learned what I have about why not lease it they make rent-a-center and aarons look good. I will never lease another thing from why not lease it as they do not care about their customers. For any of you looking to lease things I would go through rent-a-center or aarons yes you may pay a little bit more for the stuff but at least they care about their customers. Hope this helps

Oh hell yes this is another of a long list of Sears scams. My buddie went in with poor credit including repos on cars. A way bad credit score. Short work history and poor pay. Walked out with a 1500 dollar tv. I go in with a decent credit score, long work history and good income. Got approved for 1500 and decided to get the 600 dollar bose system. Wow was imediately declined. Two days later I get a letter stateing bad credit. First of all my credit is not bad. Just bought a new car with no down payment. And why the hell are they running my credit report when it states they dont run a credit report. I think its time a good attorney gets involved!!

Definitely not a scam!

I currently work for Sears and I can honestly say we have only had one issue with the leasing program (minimal problem) since its introduction to us about 2 months ago. The leasing company is a pleasure to work with and although they haven't called you back yet does not mean its a scam. The leasing options gives people access to items they wouldn't be able to afford to pay for all at once. It's actually a great program and has helped MANY people. I am sorry they haven't called you back yet but for you to say that it is a scam is just completely misleading information and untrue.

If you are familiar with businesses you know things may fall through the cracks sometimes. Maybe some of your information you entered was questionable and they needed clarification on something. Not trying to be funny but you went into the store to apply for the lease for a new washer; at what point did you say this is a scam I should turn around and leave. You didn't. You waited until your lease did not go through and then complained. Give them a call to see what's going on. They wouldn't have just not contacted you.; I am retry sure of that. The easing program we now offer is much more affordable than the other "lease to own businesses" by far.

I too have dealt with the Sears Store by Valley View and this place is run by scum bags. These are the nastiest bunch of a*holes I've ever seen. And I filed a complaint on them too. Read their online reviews. They have MANY complaints going back YEARS.

Texas is full of scams.

It's also full of the nastiest, meanest most low down, dirty rednecks I've ever seen anywhere in my life. They are nothing but all a bunch of cheats.
