I bought a used Benz ML320  1998 in Sept 2014. The car I wanted wouldn't start and then they offered me the benz. I was asked t pay $2K down payment by Debit Card which was very odd but I unwillingly complied. I needed a car asap since I had got a new job in WA from TX. I was shocked when I saw the interest rate of 22% coz I knew my credit score was OK. After 2 days the rate was reduced to 7% but the price was now $8K including the $2K down payment. I realized late rhat this $2K was actually not included in the sale coz the Manager told me not to disclose this amount to the lending bank. That was a red flag which showed that the total price was now $8K for a used car valued at $3800 in excellent condition.

When I compalined about the inflated price I was threatened with reposessession of the car. I was very upset coz they claimed to be a family oriented business.
,
Later I checked the Blue Book value and was shocked to note that the sale value of same car in EXCELLENT CONDITION WAS ONLY $3800! SO THAT MEANS THEY SCREWED ME OF MORE THAN $5000! THAT IS INSANE! IHAVE CONTACTED THE CONSUMER PROTECTION AND REPORTED THE CASE TO OTHER AUTHORITIES. THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCAM by A DEALERSHIP!

Automobile dealers are under no obligation to honor Kelley Blue Book value; therefore, no legal agency will address your complaint concerning the price of the vehicle.

If you concealed financial information from the lender, you may be a co-conspirator in an act of loan fraud.

Not Stupid Buyer

1st When I noticed the abnormal APR, I disputed the rate and she drew another contract with the new rate of 7%. Secondly I disputed the mileage on the sale bill and she draw u another bill of sale. Thirdly I was advised I could pay the down payment by Debit Card and no checks allowd, that was very strange.

I did refuse to pay the downent difference and was threatend with re-posession. I went further to contact the lending bank, Columbia Community Bank, and they said I should discuss the issue with the dealership. I was new on the job and could not afforf not to have a car. Now I have time to pursu the issue with my legal experts,

I had time constriants to do any research on the car value, which I normally do, but I did check my credit score at the dealership. I had to return the rental car the same day and so not much time for research and dispsutes.

I am an intelligent person and have never been a victim of any kind of scam coz I do my research, very well. It' not the end of this case coz the legal team is working on our options. But the fact reamins that it's an unfair business practise whatever one wants to call it. Don't blame the victim coz some victims can fight back.

OK Mr. Anthony...lets take a look at this sorry transaction.

1.  This guy wanted you to put the DP on an ATM card and YOU felt that was unusual.  What did you do?  As per your own words:  "I unwillingly complied".  "Complied"???  You comply with the police, the boss or somebody in authority over you.  You knew it was fishey but you very willingly played the role of doormat.

2.  "I was SHOCKED" when I saw the interest rate of 22%..."  Why were you "shocked"?  Did you read the contract BEFORE you signed it?  If so, there would be ZERO reason to be "shocked".  You turn down the deal if the numbers don't jive with you...but you played doormat.

3.  "I realized late rhat that this $2K was not actually included in the sale...".  Again, why did you "realize" this late?  Did you read the contract BEFORE you signed it?

4.  You claim this guy told you NOT to tell the bank you made a $2000 down payment.  Why did he tell you that?  Because he didn't want you to know it was a scam and somehow he judged you as a pushover.

5.  You say you checked the so-called blue book price LATER.  Why didn't you check it BEFORE?

You can report this to any authority you want.  This guy scammed you and YOU went along with it because YOU played doormat.  Next time you buy a car, borrow somebody's backbone or better yet, just have a woman do it for you.
