Contracted Sechrist Contracting to repair and rebuild several projects around the house. Paid them in full on the 1st day of work. Since then they have not only not completed the work, but now claim that they went over budget and need more money to complete. We have never received a materials list, price or spend break down. They just stopped coming, left a trailer full of their tools in our back yard which killed the grass, and have not taken our calls since. They pretty much took our money and ran. Now they threaten to not complete any more work unless we pay them more. They quoted us a price before starting the project, we paid them in full, then we got ripped off.
Do not hire Sechrist Contracting of Tunkhannock Pa for any of your projects. They (when they show up) only put in 2-3 hours of work per day, leave everything incomplete, do nothing but dirnk beer and leave things incomplete. We now have several incomplete projects taped off. We lost the use of many parts around the house which are extremely dangerous now. Our children cannot play in the yard because it is too dangerous. When I contacted them (repeatedly), they refuse to take my calls and threaten us.
Sechrist Contracting is a horrible company to work with. Stay as far away from them as possible. We lost over thousands of dollars because they took our money and lied to us.

My name is Regina Sechrist, I am the Co-Owner of Sechrist Contracting LLC. When I heard about this report it not only made me angry but sad as well. This job was referred to us by a dear friend, the first contractor on the job had left them in a bind, apparently because they didn't want to pay for services. The homeowners wanted to work on a time and material basis, that was agreed upon in the initial contract. The homeowner wanted to help with the work to keep the costs down, unfortunately, and I quote " he had to kill zombies all day because someone has to do it" was one of many excuses given to be absent while my crew was there.
The time and material budget was up and there was more work to be done, that is when the homeowner decided we as a company should work for free. We have responded to this customer numerous times, they have repeatedly said that they would like us to finish the work free of charge, we now see why the previous contractor ran while he had the chance.
I will not even comment on the subject of drinking while working because it's just absurd. All I ask is that if you need quality work done please consider Sechrist Contracting LLC, we can give hundreds of references from happy customers, both commercial and residential. I appreciate the chance to provide a rebuttal. It saddens me that people would jeopardize the livelyhood of honest hardworking people because they wanted something for nothing.
