I have been struggling with my toxic mortgages for 5 years, but to date the most outrageous and criminal exchange has been with Select Portfolio Servicing.  Who, unfortunately, now have both my mortgages.  I paid an attorney to deal with these people, and she quit!  That's how impossible they are.  Just to be clear.  I have a good job, I have worked full time for the same company for 12 years.  I make 6 figures.  I am not struggling.  But my home is worth $300,000, I have a mortgage of $376,000, and my payments are over $4,000 (!) a month.  Yes, you read that correctly.  $4,000.

All I am asking SPS to do is to modify my mortgages to a monthly payment under $2,500.  Yup, you read that right too.  I am not asking for something ridiiculous.

I have sent them documents, documents, documents.  I am very detailed, trust me, they have received everything they've asked for 10, maybe 15 times in the past 4 months.  They assign you a "relationship manager" (I've had 35 of them - and have letters to prove it.)  They don't answer your calls, they don't return your calls, and they don't call you.  In other words, they don't exist.

I have hired someone to call SPS every week to follow up on whether or not they've received everything, they've insisted SPS record their conversations, sometimes the SPS call people have been "hestitant to do this," but they know it's the law so they say OK, but then they whisper, like they're scared.  I am not making this up.  No one there ever gives you the same answer, and you can call every day, every 5 minutes, and you will never get the same person.

They have this scam, and I see many others have posted similar comments, they say "they don't have everything" (even though you've sent them exactly everything they've requested) - and they give you 90 days to send it in - but within 30 days they say they need something else (even though you've sent it twice).  By the time they get it to underwriting the 90 days have passed, and they say they have nothing...  so you have to start all over.

I am now FAXing everything twice, and then mailing it and tracking the package.  So I have proof they've received it.  Then I have this person I've hired to call immediately to get them to acknowledge they've received it.  It doesn't matter.  Today, I got 2 letters in the mail from them.  They were dated on the same day.  One letter says they've haven't received anything from me (even though I just sent everything again), and the other letter says they received my documents.

I could go on, but it's just more of the same.  How do you fight this?  If someone is starting a Class Action Suit I am in!
