Dear Sirs,
It is truly an awful experience to be told you are buying a re-conditioned truck that "has been rigorously test" only to experience a costly failure in lost income and repairs. I work as an owner operator for Comtrak Logistics, McCook, IL. and I Purchased a 2005 Freightliner Columbia a few days ago, March 22, 2012 from Selectrucks, Shorewood, IL.; currently a preferred vendor of my company. I was assured that purchasing a SelecTruck - part of Daimler Trucks North America-is backed by a legendary name and a respected reputation. I was told repeatedly by the sales person, as it states on www.selectrucks.com, that each quality used truck sold must pass a rigorous inspection and reconditioning process. And most important, as it states on www.selectrucks.com: "we strive to earn each customer's business with honest relationships built on trust and service". http://www.selectrucks.com/OurAdvantage 
My issues: 
Issue #1. I began using this truck at work just 2 days ago and had worked only 2 loads before problems started. As soon as I put a load on this truck I noticed problems with the clutch. The next day, I brought the truck back to Selectrucks, after working with the truck for less than 150 miles or 300 miles total after rolling it out of the dealer lot and returning it. 
Issue #2. The day I signed the agreement with Selectrucks, I noticed the passenger door latch was broken and the fuel level was empty, which I brought to the attention of the General Manager, Mr. Guy Vachon, he gave me his card and said if I have any more issues after putting the truck to work to bring it back to the service department and he would make sure any issues were corrected. Along with the statements on selectrucks.com and meeting with Guy, I felt assured that I was buying a dependable truck, from honest people. Well, now after I have experienced a major issue, Mr. Guy Vachon just said on the phone to me that "this conversation is over" about my clutch issue and there is nothing he is going to do about it save speak to CrossRoads, the finance company to see if they will pay for it.   Ultimately, Mr. Guy Vachon is leaving the burden of paying for the repairs on me. I am losing significant income each day that I am not working and all this is happening within days of buying the truck. 
Issue #3. Selectrucks web-site states that every truck comes with a 60 day Buyer's Assurance. In fact, the reversal on the 60-day assurance is misleading and misrepresenting what is stated as part of their sales guarantee. This was my main reason for doing business with Selectrucks: 60-DAY COVERAGE Guarantee "At SelecTrucks, we believe peace of mind should come standard with every purchase. Issue #4. 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee We're so confident and committed to your satisfaction, we're offering the best guarantee available. If for any reason you're not happy with your Select truck, bring it back within thirty days of purchase, and we'll replace it with another truck.* That's right - we'll exchange your truck. *Returns are subject to restocking and relicensing charges. http://www.selectrucks.com/WarrantiesService/Warranties/BuyerAssurance.aspx

I was mislead about the conditon of the truck, "the vigorous inspection" and the 60 day assurance.  If the issue is rapidly becoming about the warranty, the 60 day should have never been offered to me for $800.00 when it is represented as an automatic buyer's protection. 

Your Desired Resolution:

I am willing to give this truck back and walk away, but all I am asking is for them to stand by the truck they sold me and their reputation with Daimler Trucks North America, and honor the repairs on the truck they sold me, and furthermore stand by the Selectrucks advertised guarantees & make the costly clutch repairs.  In addition, I would expect re-imbursement for any significant delays and loss of income. Due to the sudden failure of this truck, I have not even had a chance to earn income with this truck to begin to pay for my costs to own and operate this truck. I think Mr. Guy Vachon should have shown more concern and understanding for my issue and offered to repair my truck in a timely manner without me having to experience further costs and lost time and income. If Mr. Guy Vachon would rather, be unrepuatable and tarnish Selectrucks reputation with me, my colleagues, Comtrak, and the general public, then I will seek to take further legal & social media complaints against him and his company.  Thank you.
