Senior Marketing had told me that they would arrange appointments for me to meet with people who had expressed interest in meeting with someone who could explain insurance options available to Medicare Beneficiaries in addition to the benefits of original Medicare. I had paid in advance for 20 arranged appointments at $25 each. There were to be 3 appointments per day arranged in counties upon which we agreed.

When I attempted to meet with the people with whom I was told that Senior Marketing had arranged appointments, the people with whom I was told I had appointments told me that they didn't agree to meet with anyone. When I requested evidence that such appointments were arranged, I was emailed two audio clips of the first two appointments and learned that Senior Marketing had people from overseas making unsolicited calls to people who are over 65 years old and are in the counties on which we had agreed.

The audio clips can be made available. The caller would verify the Medicare Beneficiary's name and inform the Medicare Beneficiary that the call is being recorded. The caller would then ask the Medicare Beneficiary if she had received 'the information on the new plans' (I don't believe that Senior Marketing had sent the Medicare Beneficiary any correspondence).

When the Medicare Beneficiary responded to the question in the affirmative, the caller would then proceed to ask very intrusive health questions. In the recordings of the conversations that I heard, the Medicare Beneficiary indicated that she did not have any of the adverse health conditions about which she was asked. The caller then congratulated the Medicare Beneficiary, informing her that she qualified for 'the plan'.

The caller then asked the Medicare Beneficiary if Philip (I think that may be me) could visit them and a specified time. In both cases the Medicare Beneficiary seemed to be somewhat disoriented by the conversation and responded in the affirmative regarding the proposed visit, but I suspect that the Medicare Beneficiary did not intend to arrange an appointment. In fact, when I called the Medicare Beneficiary upon arriving at her home, in all 5 cases indicated that she had no intention of meeting with anyone to discuss any Medicare options.

On the day that I became aware of the script that was being used by Senior Marketing (1/10/2012) in soliciting contact with Medicare Beneficiaries, I sent Senior Marketing an email, asking them not to solicit any contact with Medicare Beneficiaries on my behalf, because I believe the solicitations are unethical. I have not met with any Medicare Beneficiary as a result of solicitations made by Senior Marketing.
