BEAWARE!!! SENTIENT MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES!! FRAUDULENT!!

I purchased the Cutera Coolglide on 7/12/2014. The total machine was $12,995. The sales reps Brandon Grim and Eric Graham told me I could do a down payment and finance the rest of machine. Therefore, I did down payment with my card for $6,500. The day I did my down payment, they said I would be financing $7,000. When i received the machine, It was half broken! A lot of problems, machine leaking from down! They promised me for full training which was laser hair removal and laser leg veins, but only got training for laser hair removal on Skype with Amy Perez. I had to send the machine back to get it fixed, and they paid for the shipping cost which was over $2000.

After a few months, I checked with the bank to see how much I owed on the machine and the bank told me $13,000. I thought something was wrong and I felt I was in a fix. I called Sentient to see whats going on. NO REPLY! NO Answer from them! After 10 days, I was able to get hold on Brandon Grim, He said, "THAT $6,500 HAS GONE TOWARDS SENTIENT, it was not a down payment towards the machine.". I told him, when I purchased the machine, you said the 6500 would go towards machine as a principal, and i would finance 7000. He said "I NEVER SAID THAT".

I was very devastated when I found out that my $6500 has gone in their pockets and not towards my machine which i purchased from them! I will end up paying $26,000 for something that i was quoted $12,995. They are frauds and Liars! They tell u a YES in beginning, and then change the contract with a third party Kevin Stout, from Hill Financial. Do not buy from them! Spoke to the owners of my school, and they all said, "Never heard anything good about them. They are frauds in the business".

Sentient Response

AUTHOR: Office Manager - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 22, 2015

This customer did indeed by a Laser from Sentient Medical Technologies for $12,995.  Sentient received $6,500 from the customer via CC payments which absolutely was credited toward the purchase of the laser.  The remaining balance was funded through Hil Financial which was the company that helped to secure financing for this customer.  Sentient only received the funds we were due and because the customer’s lease agreement is with the bank that financed the purchase Sentient does not have the ability to assess what the customer does or does not owe or how those figures were calculated.  Contrary to what the customer says, Sentient did not ignore her calls, several team members took numerous calls from this customer, but unfortunately all we could do is let the customer know she needed to work with the bank to get questions answered about her financing balance because the bank will not discuss her financial account with Sentient personnel.   The bottom line is this customer is complaining about lease terms and amounts that are between the customer and the bank, thus her claims that Sentient has in any way been fraudulent are completely unfounded.

Furthermore, her statement that the laser was “half broken” when she received it is also a very poor misrepresentation.  Sentient acknowledges there was a leak in the Laser which was repaired completely at Sentient’s expense.  The customer noted that Sentient paid for the shipping costs, what the customer failed to acknowledge is this was done completely as a courtesy by Sentient because the terms of the purchase agreement that the customer entered into clearly specify that the customer is responsible to handle shipping the Laser back to Sentient for warranty repairs.  Nevertheless, Sentient incurred significant cost in an effort to please the customer.  Now the customer is blaming Sentient for something that is completely beyond our control and that we are unfortunately unable to assist with.

Lastly, we want to let it be known that Sentient understands the true demand of our customers and more importantly their customers. If a laser goes down appointments are lost, customers can go elsewhere and reputations can be tarnished. We are empathetic and will do everything we can within the terms outlined in the purchase agreement to assist our customer’s to the best of our ability.  Machines unfortunately can break (misuse or not) and when that happens it can be expensive.  Sentient is here to assist however that assistance has to be within reason and within the parameters of the agreed terms.
