Serta - American Mattress Also America's mattress Would not stand behind product Internet

Wow, at one time, I thought Serta was a quality brand with great customer service. This statement could not be farther from the truth. My wife and I went mattress shopping about a year ago. We shopped about 6 different retailers and laid on what seemed like 100s of beds. We purchased a Serta Radiant Pillow top mattress from Americas Mattress in Longmont Colorado. I was thinking this was the mattress of my dreams to find out it is a nightmare.  We went in to hear a sales pitch of We are a Serta exclusive retailer because they have the best quality and warranty in the business. Once again this could not be farther from the truth!  After the mattress failed we went into Americas Mattress to see what they were going to do for us due to our mattress has 2 big ruts where we sleep and a big hump in the middle.  We made mention that the mattress that this one replaced was a Denver Mattress and took 10 years to start to rut. (It has returned to my bed frame for it is in better shape than the Serta.)They began to bad mouth Denver Mattress and said that they would have to send an inspector from Serta to come to our home to do some tests. After 3 phone calls to Americans Mattress to tie down a time and day the inspector arrive to our home. The test was to place a string tightly across the bed and look for gaps under the string. This proves nothing. If you place a string around a half moon it will show no gaps. The pillow fluffs up to where the rut are not their 1 1/2 deep to meet Sertas warranty. I know it might sound cool, that if you put one shoulder against the hump and the other one in the rut you can sleep on your back as well as you side at the same time, but its not. Lying at a 30 degree angle is not the most comfortable thing in the world. We had to wait a week for a phone call from Americas Mattress to tell us what the inspector found out officially. No call came and we went back to the store. We found the dear in the headlights look from the service manager that was the one that should have called us. He said that the inspector never talked to him like he told us he would. This sounded somewhat strange after we found out the inspector not only worked for Serta but owned Americas Mattress. Imagine my surprise when the inspector/owner found nothing wrong with the bed. The manger began to give us somewhat of a song and dance that Serta was all that and a bag of chips. He said all he could do for us give us credit of half of the purchase price towards another Serta mattress of equal or greater. Now that a solution. They want me to give them $500 more dollars to be able to own another P.O.S Serta mattress like I already have. Its their own stimulus package program. After the store stone walled me I though at least Serta would back their product. Whoops wrong again. We call Serta customer care line to find out their definition of customer care is yes youre a customer and we DONT care. So as it stands now Im out $1000 bucks and still have to find somewhere to dump this crappy Serta mattress. If you have had an experience as I have had, tell everyone you know and do what Im doing.
