This "salesman" came into my place of employment 3 or so years ago and wasted a good amount of time going on about some steep discounts on magazines.  I ordered a few to make him go away.

I paid this company approximately $260 over the course of 9 months just to make them go away once the bills came in for these magazines, some of which I did not receive on a monthly basis or at all.  I discontinued paying them in late 2011.

I received a letter from 2430 inc. "Corporate Asset Recovery Division", (ironic that this company name is the street address of Seveon-One-Six: 2430) claiming they'd filed suit.  I sent them a letter saying I wasn't paying them another dime until they showed me a copy of what I had signed with the sketchy salesman, an invoice for what I'd received and was being charged for.

I never heard from them again.

Recently and almost 2 years later, I received 3 calls marked "unknown" within an hour from a Mark Makowski at 877-668-6662 ext. 102 claiming to be "an investigator with the state".  After being very elusive and rude to my questions about who he was with and what this was in regards to, he claimed I had missed a court hearing last week and the charges were receiving magazines in the name of someone else, "receiving stolen property".  (How hokey can you get?)  When I became agitated he even had the audacity to say he could care less about this "case" as he was investigating a missing child as well.  I'm sure.

I told him I'd never received magazines in any one else's name.  All but one of the magazines have ceased delivery and I still have some of the magazines with my name on the label.  I then said some choice words and hung up on him.

I have a handful of attorney friends that I will talk to about this and will seek their legal counsel if this situation arises again.
