Ms. Chantal Becher is as Bad as they come when it comes to being a lawyer.  A Young, Inexperienced Woman, who was hired to defend me and actually ended up defending the Plaintiff Suing Me - Which Resulted in the Judge issuing a Forclosure Auction Sale Date on my Family Home that I've Been Fighting for 5 Years to Keep.

My home Forclosure Defense is being handled by a Fort Lauderdale Law Firm and We had a Case Managemement Hearing Scheduled for Monday May 13, 2013 in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Since my Retained Attorney is approximately 60 Miles from the Courthouse, he "Outsourced" the Attendace to the hearing to an Inexperienced, Young, Rookie Attorney Named Shantal Lucille Becher.

On the Thursday (May 9) prior to the May 13 hearing, the Paralegal at my Regular Lawyer's Office gave me Ms. Becher's Telephone # so that I could arrange meeting her 30 minutes prior to Monday's Hearing and Go over the case on the phone in advance.

I left a voicemail message for Ms. Becher on Thursday and Friday monring, May 9th and 10th. Neither Call was Returned.  I Again Called Her Saturday May 11th at 4:00pm and left a More Assertive Message informing her that I'd Notify my Regular Counsel of her Ignoring My Calls and Also Take Other Appropriate Measures Regarding Her Lack of Attention to My Case.

She Immediately Returned my call at 4:05pm Saturday 5/11 and Rudely asked "Why I was Calling Her Home Telephone #". I explained that was the number the Paralegal Gave me, and that's the # that Avvo and Other Public Records Show.  She then Gave me an aleternate number telling me she "Never Checks Her Home Phone and Just Happen to See There Was a Message this time".

We Made Arrangements to meet at 8:15 Monday at the courthouse 30 Minutes Prior to the Hearing. Mrs. Becher phoned me at 8:30 letting me know she was stuck in traffic and would be later but alerted me that she would have a hard time defending me because my regular lawyer didn't file the propert paperwork in advance - which was not true.

She showed up 15 minutes late for court.  Was Rude and Cold to me when I tried to get advice from her. Worse than that, when my Case Was Called Before the Judge, the Plaintiff (who had 2 Lawyers there) lashed out a tirade of False Accusations against Me as Well as My Regular Lawyer.

To My Shock and Amazement, Ms. Becher kept her mouth shut except when the Judge asked her if these Accusations were True - she replied "Yes Your Honor they are true, and Glenn's Attorney totally dropped the ball here and there's nothing we can argue or defend".

At that Point the Judge Ordered that my Home Be Sold at Auction 1 Month Later and Said Thank You.  Ms. Becher then, to my Astonishment, Walked off gigglind with the Opposing Counsel and Turned Her back on me.  When I finally approached her at the table she was sitting at, she replied "I am Not Your Lawyer...You Need To Speak To Your Lawyer.

This Was an Absolute Nightmare and I've Reported Ms. Becher to the BBB, The Florida Bar and Other Reporting Bodies.

Truth About Author Glenn Siesser

He just filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy.


See, his wife divorced him and his ex-wife and her family live in this big house in Palm Beach, Florida where they haven't paid for FIVE YEARS the maintenance dues, property insurance, property taxes or the mortgage all while he lives in a condo away from his ex-wife. The bank has a final judgment against him but he keeps filing bankruptcies to stop the sale from going forward. He has used (or in my opinion abused) every attorney who has represented him. Despite surrendering the home to the Bank in his Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, the bank has yet to take it.  Of course in my opinion it is everyone's fault except the Siessers that he hasn't paid anything towards the house in 5 years as this December 2008 foreclosure case keeps being delayed due to numerous bankruptcy filings. So in my opinion when things didn't go his way, Glenn Siesser decides to go behind a keyboard and disparage people because this is what he does (see the monavie link below). Only problem is he gave himself away when he started writing rebuttals and now the truth is out.

So you see,  Glenn Siesser wants to blame everyone for his troubles. Rather than take some accountability for not paying the mortgage, property taxes, insurance, maintenance and the like on the Property for over 5 years, this is everyone else's fault. I am sure the victims of his penny stock case are just as sympathetic as I am towards him.


As they say "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"

Shantal is a hard worker. I really hope that she files a complaint against the Original Poster (OP)  for defamation and slander.

Shantal has convered hearings for Plaintiff Law Firms in the past. She then started doing work for defense foreclosure mill attorneys who are unorganized, unprofessional and dishonest. Nothing frustrates her more than  defense attorneys who are not properly and professionally defending their cases.

She is very aggressive and will work tirelessly on your behalf. Nothing passes her notice and she will raise every possible legal and proceedural defense available. 

What she will NOT entertain is the filing of pleadings by defense attorneys that have no merit, aka sham pleadings, stalling tactics. I suspect that this is the sole litigation strategy of most foreclosure defense mill law firms. Under any circumstance will she tolerate an attorney making her look like an a*s in front of her collegues, the Court or the Bar. For example she will not go before a Judge and lie unless she is absolutely sure that the information in the pleading is correct. I am very impress with her integrity as a lawyer.

If you are looking for a lawyer to investigate every defense available and applicable to your case, you should hire Shantal. She will wage war, no punches spared.

If you are looking for pretty talk and lies that is quickly followed by an  unexpected Summary Judgment and Sale date go and hire anyone of the ambulance chasers posturing as foreclosure defense attorneys. 

I have a lot of respect for attorneys who go to battle for their clients. I can name several of them but I digress. The ones who are true advocates for their clients and it shows in their work and numerous successful appellate decisions. However, like any other industry, the foreclosure defense world has seen many bandwagonist, whom, without this crisis would not have a thriving law practice. I often refer to them as under-achieving rejects, with little or no civil litigation or trial experience. Shantal is not in that category. She is very bright and will do well. She simply has to align herself with the attorneys who show pride in their work and are zelously advocating for their clients. It is great that she has taken a step in that direction and has gotten rid of much of the unwanted baggage that came with dishonest, unprofessional foreclosure defense attorneys.

if you check the dockets you can see that she is an attorney on many cases

She has also been practicing for 2 years which is not new 

why don't you give me your last name so we know who you are

It's easy for you to hide behind your keyboard and slander good people 

Im certain this isn't the first time you have done this type of harassment

I won't give Ms. Becher any Dignity here as she clearly is "Pretending to Be" Paid Customers in making the statements above.  Clearly only a lawyer would know these facts and not a customer.


Secondly, Customer(s) wouldn't waste time trying to defend a lawyer who's only been practicing a short time.

And the bank finally got around to selling your home last month. Consider youself lucky you got to keep the house for 5 years without making any payments on the mortgage (I am sure the same can be said for your homeowners insurance, maintenance, and property taxes)

With 60 months of payments you haven't made then the good news is you should have enough money to buy yourself a new house without a mortgage.

I agree with the Accountability post, there is more to this story. Looks like this guy and his lawyer ran out of stalling tactics and the bank finally got it right.

"Glen" is hiding something

This Ripoff Report is an outrage. Ms. Becher represented me in my case and did a great job and was better than the other attorneys I hired and I would use her again.

 I wonder what Glen is hiding. After all he didn't use his last name or is that his real name?

Perhaps if Glen paid his mortgage he wouldn't be in foreclosure. Why is he blaming the attorney(who was covering for the attorney he hired who didn't want to go to Court for him becasue it was too far for him) for the Judge ordering the house is sold? There is more to this story and it appears "Glen" is not telling us everything.

The sad ending to most foreclosure cases is that the house is sold.

The distance between the Broward Courthouse and Palm Beach Courthouse is 40 miles. (a 30 minute drive on I-95) The fact his lawyer doesn't make the drive perhaps he shouldn't take Palm Beach cases.

It appears the attorney representing Glen (who he didn't mention) is the one to blame here. They apparently hired Ms Becher to cover their hearing and by Glen's admission they didn't do their job for the hearing and when Glen didn't get the result he wanted, he blamed Ms. Becher who rightfully told him to take it up with his anonymous attorney.

Glen didn't pay his mortgage, was he hoping the Judge would say "The bank should give him the house for free"

Glen felt for whatever reason that he was entitled to Shantal being at his beck and call. Calling her over the weekend and she was nice enough to even return his call (just shows you what a good lawyer she is working on weekends). The fact the hearing didn't go his way was no fault of Ms. Becher as whomever was there to have the privilege of covering Glen's case would have received the same backlast with ripoff reports from Glen.

I want to know how Glen was ripped off? Did he pay Shantal for legal representation? NO. His attorney paid her to cover for him because it appears in my opinion he screwed up by not filing the proper pleadings (as Glen stated) and probably didn't want to be embarassed by the judge or feel the wrath of this individual that calls himself Glen.

Unfortunately this is a sad commentary. It is my opinion that we as a society have to live with people like "Glen" the type of person who will compain at a restauruant so he can get a free meal, nothing is ever good enough for him as he feels entitled. I wonder what the reality is of "Glen"  and why he can't pay his mortgage or perhaps he just hates women?

To attack the messenger and try to damage her reputation beause his house was foreclosed due to the attorney he paid not doing his job is inflammatory. Perhaps he should ask for forgiveness and he will be forgiven (Luke 17:3)

I know Ms. Becher and I have used her and I have seen her work. She is well liked by not only her collegues but Judges like her too.

It's sad when these websites such as ripoff report which is an asset to the Internet community is abused by people looking to blame everyone else but themselves over their predicament.

This report is a bunch of garbage, it appears the author was not happy with his house being sold and wants to blame the wrong person for his predicament.

This Ripoff Report is totally uncalled for. Ms. Becher has been known to cover for foreclosure defense attorneys and can only work with whatever she is sent from the counsel she covers for.

Unfortnately the forcelsoure defense business has brought about many attorneys who do not understand the process or they charge a monthly fee to their clients and they do not do any work. It is common for coverage attorneys to be frustrated by the absolute lack of effort or filings of the attorney of record.

Perhaps the author of this report who is quick to blame Ms. Becher should expound on his situation. Whose fault is it that the author took out mortgages on his home that he can't pay? Obviously he missed payments on his mortgage and the bank is trying to take his home.

I would like to address this complaint and pick it apart. Unfotunately "Glen" was not willing to give out his last name so we could see his docket and check public records  to see his case.

1. You were given a sale date because you didn't pay your mortgage and the bank or perhaps the association wanted it sold for you not paying.

2. Why don't you name the law firm who represetned you?

3. Why would your foreclosure defense firm take cases in a Courthouse that is too far for them to travel?

4. Why should Shantal be obligated to talk to you over the weekend, you are not her client, you are the client of the unnamed law firm?

5. You ADMIT your regular lawyer (who you failed to name) did not file the proper paperwork in advance, lets see the case number so we can check to see who is telling the truth.

6. It appears your attorney (who you refused to name) dropped the ball and that is why your house was put up for sale. Perhaps he or she is to blame.

7. She was NOT your lawyer she covered for your laweyr and told you to speak to your lawyer. Perhaps your lawyer could explain how he messed up your case.

Bototm line is you didn't pay your mortgage and you appear to be blaming everyone but yourself for your situation which is a lack of accountability.

I am sure if you are nice enough to tell us who you are, there will be more to this story and we will find out what you are hiding from us.
