Sharp Electronics Corporation / ElectraSound Repair They took my money and ran and left me with a piece of crap television! Mahwah New Jersey

In October of 07, my husband and I bought a 42 inch Sharp Aquos flat screen and paid 1686.00 for it.

In March of 08, we decided to start using our HDMI inputs for our equipment. They wouldn't work in the tv. Hubby called Sharp and they said they would send repair out right away. They scheduled it for the next Tuesday.

I took off work that Tuesday and some guy from Electrosound called and asked what the problem was. I told him and he said " Ohhh, I don't have to come all the way to your house, I just need to order the right part for you"

So a week later he rescheduled. He came (after I took off work again) and realized he ordered the wrong part.

So he rescheduled again for the next week.

Took off work again, he showed up and installed the part. After installing new HDMI board....they worked fine....the other componets (red, white, yellows) wouldn't work. He said he would have to order the main motherboard for the television. I told him Saturday's was the only convienant day for him to come.

So he rescheduled for the next Sat. Sat came and went and he never showed nor called. Hubby finally called Sharp and told them NOT TO SEND THAT GUY TO OUR HOUSE AGAIN!!!!!

Sharp rescheduled a couple of weeks later...and the same guy showed up. He was so mad and angry about the whole thing. He put the new motherboard in and left. The tv still didn't work right.

Hubby called again and again. They scheduled and broke the schedule several times. Some days our equipment would work on the tv, some days not. The sound faded and no adjustments through the tv's menu would help.

Hubby was in the hospital for a month. When he was recovering we noticed the same thing happening. We decided to just leave it be and use the componets that would work on the tv. Then the 2 HDMI's went out again.

Now the only plug in that works is the cable plug in.

Hubby called Sharp again. The rescheduled again with Electrosound. The same idiot guy called. They scheduled for a Sat again. Sat morning the guy called and asked what was wrong. THE SAME THING. He said "well, I won't bother coming there, I'll just order the part"

Finally hubby had enough! We were so tired of removing our tv from the wall and them not showing.

Sharp is finally replacing the tv (or so they say) Hubby called them again last night and they said that they were sending a refurbished tv of the same value to us. WTF? Our warranty also runs out in Oct on this "new" tv but hubby complained and they gave us the extended warrenty until April.

Now lets see if they actually deliver it or reschedule.

I will NEVER ever buy from Sharp again.
