Shell Vacations Club TOTALLY misrepresented their product and duped me into purchasing Pasadena California

I attended a presentation at the Shell Vacations office in Pasadena, CA on May 18, 2007.

The rep explained to me that Shell Vacations is unique because as a member you actually own a portion of all of their resorts and they are located all over the world. He stated "it's just like owning a house - you can pass this down to your daughter and she can enjoy it her whole life and then pass it down to her kids, etc." I was very intrigued by this because it appeared to be a great investment - the fact that I would own property that would increase in value, and I would gain equity in it, etc. He definitely understood that I thought I was buying actual property and he stated that "fact" over and over again. He also confirmed that I would be able to travel for less money since they could offer such great rates because of having so many owners.

It turns out that what I really purchased are fairly useless points that over the years will greatly decrease in value, plus a contract that will last the rest of my life of which the cost will greatly increase. I truly believed that when I bought this; I was purchasing property that could be passed down to my daughter. Of course, I would never pass this horrible burden down to her. If I live a normal life span and go on living for another 40-50 years, this product will be costing several thousand dollars a year just for maintenance fees. By then, the value of the points will be next to nothing. This product has the potential of financially ruining me. I'm very interested in a class action lawsuit against this company.
