Misrepresented Items

My bid on a few pieces of jewelry that were described as having specific stones and carat weight.  When I received the pieces, I quickly realized they were not as described.  I contacted Shopgoodwill and told them about the problem.  The auction descriptions were very vivid and there were ** NO ** indications anywhere that there was doubt about what they were describing.  No language like, "appears to be" or "gold-colored" or "sapphire-like".  

With the business that Shopgoodwill does on the Internet, I am SURE that they could have gotten some jewelry testers - or even purchased them - to make their descriptions more credible.

In short, they did refund my purchases upon return of the items.  HOWEVER, they also removed my bidding privileges because I returned the misrepresented items.  They never told me that they would be banning me from the site because of this.  Over the years I purchased a lot of items from them, many not worth the price I paid.  It is their loss.

"Set-Asides"

Also, please note that it's usually the same bidder who "wins" the auctions for items like the large screen LCD televisions....  They state "Pick-up only" on some auctions, however, if you make arrangements for a local "pick-up & ship" company to pick up the item for you, they still won't let you have the item.  

It's a VERY cozy (and PROFITABLE) arrangement for someone there....  Be sure that the management "buys" a number of high-end items at ridiculously low prices.
