I purchased a 12 mp digital camera in anticipation of a trip to Antarctica and wanted a better camera than I had. I purchased the Model KThinn 12VX camera through clippercutie on eBay and received the camera on December 21, 2006. I had ordered an extra battery and that was defective. I had to pay for another and return the defective one so I could get it before I went on my three week vacation. I did receive a timerly refund on the battery.

I didn't have time to do a real complete check of the camera before I left for vacation but did take some pictures over the holiday. When I returned on January 21, I emailed SVP, and clippercutie about "white out" problems I had with the camera. In sunlight the camera's viewer turned white and you couldn't see anything. This didn't happen all the time, just occasionally. It was frustrating and annoying. Just imagine seeing a whale tail and trying to take a picture and all you see is a white screen! NOT a good thing for the vacation of a lifetime.

The response to my email was basically "tough, there's a 7 day return policy". I have contacted the California Better Business Bureau and have been working with them, but this company is not willing to give me a refund. They will "repair or replace" the camera if found to be defective.

I found through internet research that the camera is NOT 12mp as advertised and the photos I took confirm that!

Anyone who has purchased a camera through Silicon Valley Peripherals and/or Clippercutie who has had problems might want to try the BBB. If the company gets enough complaints through the BBB, they may be willing to take some action and refund some dissatisfied customers.
