Silvercar Actual Rates Much Higher than Advertised DFW Airport Nationwide

This company rents a specific model of car and advertises a nationwide price of $69.99 per day.  The actual rental rate is much higher doe to various charges and fees that are typical of off-airport rental locations.  Unique to Silvercar, however, is a $17.50 "Customer Transportation Charge," presumably assessed to shuttle airport passengers to the rental location.  Silvercar, however, assesses this charge even for local renters.  Upon my complaint, a Silvercar representative wrote that "If you do not require pick up or drop off at the Airport, you can be identified as a local renter after you select the local renter option in your reservation. After we verify the DL and Credit Card address are local, the airport fees can be waived at the time you start your rental."  While nice in theory, this procedure does not work and the fee is assessed regardless of whether a rental is local or arrives at a local airport.
