Recently, on Dec. 20, 2006, Industry Canada released the news about Direct Distribution Centre in Montreal, involved with deceptive practices over the phone concerning the distribution of paper supplies to various businesses across Canada. The most typical are gas bars, construction shops, hotels, convenience stores, pharmaceutical companies, and hair salons. I have been deceived by the owner of the company, Simon Gouin, into believing that the company was legitimate, when I now realize it has an extremely gruesome business style. He might manage to open another business in the future if he becomes eligible to practice business. Do NOT get involved in such businesses. Such owners face stiff fines and impisonment of up to 5 years. In case of evidence, alleged sections of a script presented on the telephone were as follows:

"Hi May I speak to the manager?"

"Hi this is (name) calling from Direct Distribution Centre. I am calling in regards to the debit/credit card machine. How is everything operating? As you know, there is a 1-800 number on it just in case you have any problems."

"...The company decided to put two boxes aside for all its new and old customers, and those two boxes, at $99.95 are scheduled to be shipped out to you today..."

Mr. Gouin made me believe at first that I was misrepresenting his product when now, it seems to me that he merely 'made everything up' about me telling customers that I would send one box for free, and about a delibrately false accusation about me asking for banking information from the customer. Mr. Gouin appears extremely devious, deceiving, and distrustful. If you have any further information regarding any illegal business practices he conducts in the future, you are asked to call info crime at 514-393-1133. Safe protection of consumers is paramount.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Dear Mark

AUTHOR: S.g. - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 15, 2007

There is a well-deserved negative stereotype surrounding many forms of call centers. This is an unfortunate fact that I Simon Gouin, and the employees of Direct Distribution Center face everyday from victims of the dishonest companies. Direct Distribution Center is not one of those companies.

To my best efforts I have always and continue to hire honest salespeople, fire the dishonest ones and proudly maintain a satisfactory report with the Better Business Bureau. Obviously I am very disappointed to have found Direct Distribution Center and my name slandered on this web page.

I am grateful for Ripoff.com and many other sites like this. They offer recourse for cheated customers, and offer an informative buyer beware to potential customers; but the accusations on this page are not from a customer - they are from a disgruntled employee I fired.

Mark's termination is a result of customers calling us back suspecting that we were scamming them, they described a salesperson who offered free merchandise. Mark didn't invent this technique of inflating sales; when I identified the problem and source I called him from the sales floor and acted quickly. I take no special pleasure firing an employee of 3 years but sufficient evidence forced me to fire him for misrepresentation of our sales pitch. After reading his version of our sales script I feel more than confident that I made the right choice.

I have taken Mark's accusations personally because many of his criticisms are directed at me. Worse still he has deliberately centered his aggravations on my years of working towards making my company become unique in a business overrun by deceptive companies.

By virtue of the fact that my ex employee has chosen to attack my integrity, (not the company's), leads me to believe that it isn't his wholesome moral integrity that motivated him to write his letter but instead to satisfy his own ends. Especially so when I consider that he worked for Direct Distribution Center for 3 years before declaring my company crooked upon his termination. The coincidence is suspicious.
