I was trying to locate my local Social Security Administration Office to get replacement SSN Card.  I Googled SSN Card Replacement and simplefilings.com was the one of the top of the list.  Based on what they directed on their website gave all my information so I could order a replacment SSN Card.  Supidly I gave my paypal information beleiving my replacement card would be on its way, instead $44 was immediately drawn from my account ($10 for instant processing) and I recieved instructions to print out a SS5 form, and scan a copy of my ID, etc. and mail it to them so they can begin processing.  This was total BS.  The only "service" they did was fill in an SS5 form which is available for free directly from the Social Security's website.  What's worse is, they can't start on anything unitl I mail them a form they wanted me to print out (and pay for the postage costs!!!).  Did I mention the nearest Social Security Admin office is right next to my local post office.

When I went to the Social Security office, I gave them my order number from simplefilings, ofcourse they said that they had never heard of simplefilings.com and that there is no charge for replacing my SSN card. Because I don't have a working printer at home, to print out the SSN card replacment form, they provided me with an application which was stacked on a table in the office lobby.

Simple Filings SSN replacement service is a SCAM.

We are an independent document preparation service that strives to succeed by providing intuitive proprietary forms, clear help content, quick processing times, and quality customer service. We aren't affiliated with any government agency, so we work only for you, and only to improve your filing experience. People can prepare any document themselves, or they can enlist the help of a service that has prepared the document many times before.

Our Form SS-5 document preparation service in particular is explained multiple times and in multiple places before any information or payment is accepted. There is no fine print. Then after the order is completed and the SS-5 is prepared and provided to the customer as requested, we also provide detailed filing instructions to assist the customer in their next step, which is filing the SS-5 with the Social Security Administration. Prepared SS-5's and evidence documents should never be sent back to us. We even go so far as to provide the exact address of the Social Security Administration office closest to the customer, where we direct them to mail or take in their completed application.

The complainant appears to have not read some content, and mis-read others. It is in our own best interest for customers to read and understand this information correctly, so we put a lot of effort into designing it as such. Regardless, we apologize for any misunderstanding, and we will continue to try to improve as misunderstandings like this are clearly not good for anyone.
