On March 18, 2009 we purchased the Home Budget program on the internet. The home page is very elaborately done with several images describing the program including a free demo. However, once you purchase the program for $9.95 you then discover it's not quite what you thought it was going to be. For example you are limited in the number in lines you can have per category. You can't customize the names (for example using the precise name of your bank or mortgage company). You also cannot get line-item detail (except by broad category). The website claims to have "fixes" or patches to increase detail or lines along with several other things and links to daily expense tracking. Not true. Every time I tried to download their "fixes" all I got was a Micorosoft Excel message back that says "File error: data may have been lost."

Anytime I send them a message to either their customer support link or administrative link I get no response whatsoever. They also state that they only want happy customers and tout a 100% money back gaurantee. My attempts to get this back have just as fruitless.

I have tried patiently with four e-mails over the past couple of weeks to give the company an opportunity to not only help but resolve this as professionals. I have not received once single response to anything I have sent (except of course their acknowledgement of receiving my $9.9.5 through Pay Pal).

Clearly we've been "had". I would strongly urge anyone considering a home budget planner to use stay away from and go with Simple D Budget (also available on the internet). It's free and works great and does just about everything you want it to do. One of it's great features is the detail you can add to anything you purchase.

We are truly . . . disappointed at being ripped off to say the least.

Dear Customer, we apologize for the experience you had with our product and our support.  As of Jan 1st 2010, we have taken actions to improve the effectiveness of our support team.  We now have a dedicated support team to handle all questions in a timely manner. 

We do stand buy our products and aim to please every one of our customers.  We offer expanded versions of our planner to fit the needs of even the most detail oriented budgeters.
