XM Radio did an automatic renewal for a receiver in a car that I sold two weeks later. I contacted them asking for a refund of the renewal amount and requested that they cancel service for that radio. I still had another radio in my wife's car and wanted to keep the service for that car. They wanted to credit the two years of service to the other car and I still had a year left on that account. I told them that I didn't want to do that as I felt that I would be selling that car in a year or so. I requested they refund what had been charged to my credit card. Amazingly, they told me the only way I could get a refund was if I cancelled service to both radios.

I couldn't believe that they would rather loose me as a customer entirely to avoid returning the money they had just charged against my credit card. I was so mad I told them to cancel my service entirely and refund my money. They closed the account and said I would receive a refund within ten days to two weeks. I have called them six times in the last five months and they keep telling me I will get the refund but they never do it.

I have now reported them to the Better Business Bureau and I plan to take them to small claims court if that doesn't work. I would highly recommend that anyone who considers doing business with them understand that you will not get a refund from them. These are not reputable people and if you think you are going to get a refund on one of their long term programs, forget it!
