Sirius XM billed my credit card twice for a subscription to satellite radio.  I do not own a car, nor do I own a satellite radio.  However, in 2011, I did purchase a gift subscription for one year for my Mother.  I did not know I was signing up to be enslaved by this company forever.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau which, surprisingly, did not help at all.  Sirius XM actually submitted blatant lies to the BBB regarding attempts to contact me (they made no attempts).  As a result, the BBB closed the claim rather than force Sirius XM to provide me with a letter of cancellation and a guarantee they won't charge my credit card again.

My credit card company has told me they will no longer charge my card for this service but said I must cancel the service (which is impossible).  

I'm not sure who the genius was that decided Sirius XM could be the only satellite radio company but I would like to give them a piece of my mind.  This company should not be in business at all.  They regularly commit fraud by charging consumers for service they did not order and do not want.  Sirius XM makes it impossible to cancel their service either by telephone or online.  And, as I said, they refuse to provide anything in writing regarding cancellation of service.

Until Sirius XM changes their billing practices, consumers should avoid this company at all costs.  Let's put them out of business, folks!  All you have to do is search online and you'll find thousands and thousands of complaints about Sirius XM.  A company does not get that kind of reputation without trying really, really hard to achieve that goal.

I am happy to report that after a few emails back and forth with SiriusXM, they have provided me with an email stating the account in question is closed and my credit card information has been purged.  This website was more effective than the Better Business Bureau!  I appreciate having somewhere to air my grievance and have it addressed immediately by the company involved.  

While I would never recommend anyone do business with SiriusXM, I am happy they finally resolved my issue.  I encourage others with problems with SiriusXM to keep fighting!

Was your mother's information on the account or yours? If so, we would have contacted you through the info that was provided to us on the account. 

When you signed up for our services, you agreed to our terms and conditions which included our auto-renewal and our cancellation policies. The only way to cancel your subscription with us is for all of customers to call in. Unfortunately, we don't offer the ability to cancel online.
