*UPDATE Employee: Complaint Too General - Can Only Respond with Facts

Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

The reason they want to be paid upfront is because you will never receive a refund.  Please notice that when she responds it is sometimes as an employee and sometimes and end user. She sometimes says she is employee and writes it as a consumer. These folks from canada are amongst the crookedest webhosts in the industry. Do not give these crooks your money as you will not receive any help or refund.

SiteSell/SBI is quite reputable and honors their guarantee.

I have been an SBI website owner and a SiteSell affiliate for 7 years.  Of course they ask for payment up front, I have rarely seen any website or program that does not do this.  This should not be surprising.

I have had the privilege of having a number of people buy a SiteSell website through me.  I have also purchased numerous SiteSell websites myself.  I can tell you unequivocally that they DO give a refund if you find that their program is not for you.  In 7 years, I have had 2 people decide, within a week or so, that SBI would not work for them, and they both received full refunds in a very timely manner.

I have always found their customer service to be very helpful and straightforward.

Complaint Too General - Can Only Respond with Facts

AUTHOR: DeniseTaylor - (United States of America)

Dear unhappywithsitesellwebhost

It sounds like either you are frustrated about something, or you posted here out of anger.

Since your complaint is generalized, all I can do is verify facts based upon your post. does hold 2 for 1 specials on occasion, but I don't know you can say we don't deliver. When you purchase your website, you get several months to begin the second. Additionally, all the tools (ref: that come with a subscription are there for use. Nothing has been cancelled or removed. It's up to you to use the tools and put them to work.

Like any hosting company, we give you a place from which to host your site, but unlike most hosting companies, we go far beyond that in order to help you succeed. Does every customer succeed? No. But we do have a pretty decent success rate which is verifiable. (

We do have a money-back guarantee, and we do uphold it, which has been talked about here in the past.  (

If your complaint is a matter of having to pay for the sites before you can build them, paying in advance is a standard in most businesses. Most webhosts require a year of fees in advance and to get the attractive advertised price, you must pay multiple years in advance.

Other business models require a deposit over and above the actual fee to ensure a satisfactory transaction so people cannot take an unfair advantage.

Most businesses don't allow its customers to take multiple discounts because a special is offered to get people to try the product. It's a win-win situation because it gives the customer an opportunity to try the product at a special discount and it gives the company a chance to obtain new customers. When people abuse discounts, it can cut too deeply into the pricing as to make the transaction a negative for the business. No business can survive that.

So if SiteSell does not allow multiple discounts at one time, it is because it must protect itself from those who would abuse it.

That does not make SiteSell crooked.

If you have had an issue with which you need assistance, I urge you to contact SiteSell Support so they can help you.

Good luck!

Denise Taylor
