My Wife and I visited North Georgia the first weekend in Feb 2009, coming from warm and friendly Tampa Florida where theme parks are open 365 days a year, we thought it was going to be a treat to visit this park on Saturday Feb 7, 2009.

We made an online purchase of tickets (to save money) and went to the hotel lobby to print them. The tickets we printed did not tell us that the park was closed! the website was not CLEARLY marked to tell us the park was CLOSED! We drove 45 miles to Austell and discover to our amazement that people in N. Georgia think that theme parks have to have rest?!? or what??

What's that about? imagine if you came to Florida and planned to come to Busch Gardens or Disney to find it closed! that you bought tickets and found it closed and then that there was no refund!!!! Talking kindly to the park guest services, we found them to be abusive and refused to hear our plight!
Our credit card company sided with the theme park and also refused a charge-back - shame on Chase Credit cards too!

So to recap, we are from Florida where parks close each night, but never any day - and are open 365 days a year, we are 500 miles north of here and buy non-refundable tickets (we did not get the no-refund warning until after our money was gone) and no one wants to give us our money back - please beware maybe someone will not lose like we did. Good Luck!

On the fence about this one...

I' m not sure why you had to state twice where you were from. You clearly are in another state, so why would you expect GA to be the same as FL? Like someone else said, FL is warm year round, but GA gets cold and even snowy. No one wants to be on a rollercoaster in cold weather.

You should have looked at the times. I do think though that the site should be set where certain dates are (like winter time) blocked out so no one else can buy tickets when its closed.... I mean, come one! Why would you allow the sale of a ticket if the park is closed? I can understand allowing people to buy season tickets ahead of time, but couldn't a site have certain times blocked out, or is it wishful thinking?

I'd Wonder?

Isn't six flags suppose to have some $260 millon dollar bill come due in June? If they can't come up with the money, they might have to close some parks?

A lot of theme parks in Florida are open year-round due to the fact that it never gets cold there. For everywhere else in the country, you should have known that hours might vary for the winter months.

As was stated, on the page where you buy tickets, in the bottom left-hand corner, there is a prominent Park Hours notice with a link to a calendar. This situation doesn't reflect poorly on Six Flags, you just assumed that every theme park in the country is open year-round and didn't bother to take a moment to read the hours.

I AGREE, YOU DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION

It is clearly posted on bottom left of the website what the park hours are for that day. Clicking on that takes you to the calendar, where it CLEARLY SHOWS that the park is not open the entire month of February, limited weekends in March, weekends and spring break week in April, and weekends only until after Memorial Day. I am an Atlanta native and can tell you that Six Flags has NEVER been year round Even in California, Six Flags isn't year round, 7 days per week.

Why, when you were online to buy these tickets, didn't you look at the park hours? They're on the website. You're at fault here. Stop blaming everyone else for your mistake.
