On Nov. 6 2015, I ordered the sample size of the SkinYouth enhanced face serum and eye cream through their Facebook ad. It said I would be charged $4.95 and $5.95 for shipping and handling. Once I entered my credit card info, it took me to a page saying it would charge me $34.97. No where had I agreed to that but their site wouldn't let me cancel or back out of the transaction. I immediately called their 800 number and spoke to a customer service rep (CSR) and told her I just ordered the samples and explanned about the extra charge and that I didn't want any of their product now. I asked her to cancel EVERYTHING. She said she would cancel my order and refund the $34.97. She said if I received the product just to keep it. I said there shouldn't be any shipment because it had only been five minutes since I was on their website. She assured me it was cancelled. A few days later the $34.97 was refunded.

On Nov. 12, 2015 much to my surprise I received a package including the SkinYouth Enhanced, the SkinYouth Eye cream and the SkinYouth Vitamin C. I put it away unopened thinking I would do as the CSR suggested and just keep it and not waste more shipping and handling costs to return it.

On Nov. 21, 2015 my bank account was charged an additional $85.97 and $89.97 without my knowledge or consent. I called three separate times and spoke to three different CSRs. Th first said she could only refund 35%. She kept telling me I ordered these products and it was on auto-ship and therefore auto-charge. I told her that had never happened and I had not ordered anything other than the two samples for which I was charged shipping and handling. I asked to speak to someone who could refund my money at 100% and she disconnected our call. I called back and spoke to Anna. I explained the situation and again she triEd to tell me I had ordered these products. I told her I had not - I only ordered sample sizes and was only supposed to be charged the S&H charges. She kept reading from a script, wasn't listening to me, kept talking and when I asked her to quit talking and listen to me, she disconnected the call.

I called back and got Alexander.  He said my account had been cancelled and that two emails had been sent to me with return instructions. I told him that neither email I received had return instructions nor a return address where I could send the unused products. There was only a cancellation number. He apologized, gave me a return authorization number that must be on the outside of the package and a P.O. box address for returning the product. I askied when I could expect my 100% refund and he said 3-5 days after they receive the returned items. We'll see.

I would NEVER have ordered this expensive of a product without testing it via a sample. Just like when you go to a department store and get a small sample before you invest in the actual product to see if it works for you. The Facebook site was deceptive and the customer service reps only read from a script insisting that I had ordered and that I had clicked on a button. I did not!

I am sending the products via certified mail, return receipt requested on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015. If and when I receive my refund, I will post as a follow-up. In the meantime, I hope everyone interested in this product calls instead of orderping online. Get all the facts and keep asking questions. Nothing should be this hard.

Buyer Beware

Skin Youth and Skin Youth Eye Serum Cancellation Instructions.  I have learned the hard way that never a truer statement has been spoken than BUYER BEWARE.  Like millions of women I was fascinated by this product's claims but also like millions I've had my bank account tapped by signing up for "shipping only," "free," "trial offer" scams on the internet.  I am NOT defending Skin Youth's sketchy practice of, not only FINE print, but barely legible LIGHT print, what I am suggesting is that we need to gain control of our own wallets.  Be aware of TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch - scour these offers with a fine tooth comb, use the search page feature under the Edit menu in Firefox and IE to seach for key words like "trial period" and "membership" and "cancel" to weed out barely legible fine print warnings, as I promise you those warnings are almost always on the order page and certainly in the "Terms and Conditions" albeit almost always buried.  Write down cancellation instructions and FOLLOW THEM TO THE LETTER, keeping a record of the date and time of phone calls, who you spoke to, detailed notes of what was said and any confirmation number you are given, copies of emails or correspondence, then watch your bank account or credit card bill and the instant you see that buried charge of $39.95, $49.95 or in this case, a WHOPPING $94.94 appear, contact your account holder.  If you follow instructions and cancel timely, it should never appear, but if it does, your account holders will by law in most states (I know of no exceptions) remove the charge, especially if you have kept good records.

Remember, YOU are your own best advocate.  It's THEIR job to bamboozle you, to take your money by whatever means necessary and take it they will.  It's YOUR job to protect your money.  You would be shocked at how many people let it slide that first month and that first month could make the company a million dollars, ESPECIALLY on antiaging products.  Women crave remaining young looking with ease.  We don't take care of our skin early in life then look for miracles in a bottle when we reach 50, 60, 70 making ourselves easy easy targets.  The beauty industry is not blameless in creating this monster within us but because of this vanity "flaw" we have to remain extra vigilant. They fully expect us to just give up, throw in the towel and quit fighting once these charges appear. Don't waste your time after the first carefully documented call to them or you will make yourself crazy.  Instead, your second call should be to YOUR BANK or CREDIT CARD COMPANY and document your call with the date, time and to whom you spoke.  They will not only remove the charge, they will BLOCK future charges but they too make mistakes so WATCH your statements for the next three months.

Skin Youth, in Step 2 of the ordering process for the "shipping only" trial size - just beneath the Certified, Security, Privacy, Business "verified" blocks has a faint, light gray "disclaimer" of sorts:  By submitting, you concent [sic] to having read and agreed to our Terms and Conditions and after your 14 day trial period has expired, being enrolled in our membership program for $94.94 plus shipping per month. You can cancel anytime by calling 800-734-5933.

And remember, Skin Youth Eye Serum is a SEPARATE product - you will get tapped twice if you order both products.  The eye serum's "disclaimer" is also in Step 2 beneath "Claim Your Exclusive Trial Today" and it is DIFFERENT from Skin Youth's:  Initially, just pay $5.97 (USD) for S&H today to fully evaluate SkinYouth Eye Serum for 14 days. If you like SkinYouth Eye Serum, simply keep the product. Once your trial has ended (14 days from today) you will be billed $85.97 for the product. Then on day 30 and every 30 days thereafter you will continue in the monthly program for $91.94. You can cancel any time by calling 800-311-6708.

My suggestion is love the skin you're in and don't waste your time on company's that make ridiculous claims of youth in a bottle.  We evolve and leave the world to a new generation.  Try to enjoy aging. Celebrate that you have lived long enough to SHOW signs of aging.  Use your money to take the grand kids out for ice cream or treat yourself to dinner and a movie ... don't give in to these con artists.  They have poured more money into figuring out how to successfully take YOUR money than they have into developing their product.  Just Say No.
