On December 4th, I saw an advertisement on the internet for SkyOne Capital. They claimed to guarantee employment at a starting rate of $13.50 per hour. It was explained to me that in order to remain in "active" status as an employee, I was required to pay a monthly fee of $20.00 to aid in the expense of the software necessary to perform the assignments I would be given... I completed all the paperwork necessary, including a W-2.

I have paid the initial $20 monthly fee. I have attended a telephone orientation, and have been contacted via email by the company several times. I have given the company my direct deposit information. I also downloaded a snap wallet apparently to my cell phone, all for the purpose of working for SkyOne Capital. According to the company website, once a potential employee has completed all paperwork and paid the $20.00 fee, it takes no longer than a week to start receiving assignments.

It has been a month...I have not received an assignment. I received an email telling me that it takes one business day to process my fee, and I will be receiving assignments shortly after. That was three weeks ago. On January 4th, I received an email from Sky One. The email stated that I had received a "credit". I called the office, and was informed that I had a check pending, and that I could pick it up from the office on January 11th. I was also told that they were a little behind in giving out assignments, and that I would be receiving assignments within two days.

On January 11th, I went to the office to retrieve my check...and no one was there. I called the office, and the company cell phone. No one has returned my calls. I am very close to being evicted from my home. My monthly cell phone bill is due today, and my cell phone will be turned off tomorrow. In my experience, SkyOne Capital is a scam and a ripoff, that preys on those who need help most in this economy...the unemployed. Please stay away!!

I believe this company is a scam

AUTHOR: jasmine - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 15, 2013

In November of 2012, I happened upon the site of skyone capital, inc. When I looked on it, it had only brief descriptions of the job opportunities and it mentioned a $20 monthly fee for "guaranteed employment".The site back ground was blue and white.I considered taking this job opportunity but since my phone was off at that time I decided to wait.In December of 2012 I looked at the site again and noticed that it had changed drastically.
It was no longer a simple blue and white background but, it now seemed more sophisticated and better put together. The site still gave only brief job descriptions and the fee was still there. I looked on the site and noticed that in order to apply you would need to pay $20 after completing the form.I didn't have any money at the time so i decided to wait again.
In January 2013 I checked the site again and noticed that once again it had changed! Also the number was not the same. The background was a basic white template and the fee was also gone. So i decided to fill out the simple form. I submitted the form and waited 2 weeks. During that time i also called the office multiple times and was repeatedly transferred to the answering machine.
Finally near the end of January I checked the site again and discovered that the site was unavailable and there was a message saying that skyone had gone out of business!I don't know if the company has simply had bad luck but my intuition tells me that this was a scam.
After I discovered the site was down, I immediately looked on Linkedin.com and found that information concerning skyone was no longer available.I also checked their manta page and no real information is present. Afterwards,I did a Google search for Mr. Mike Israel and all i got were names of people who owned other companies and a musical performer of some kind. If this is a reputable company then it sure does have a lot of red flags. Until proven otherwise, I am convinced this company is a scam and that the mike israel of said company does not exist.

Read his reply. Something's not right. Reads like someone using a bad translation book. Definitely not American. Strange phrasing of words. I'm going to take a shot and assume Mike Isreal IsNotReal. Can I ask how payments have been made to his company? Western Union, MoneyGram or Green Dot?

The website does not show the companys management team. Many successful companies like to feature their management team photos and bios.

Mr. Isreal, It is not my intention to slander you or your company. I just want to know why I paid your company $20. Your website stated that it was to assist in the cost of the technology it takes to telecommute with SkyOne. I have a "welcome email" from SkyOne, as well as several other emails that led me to believe that I was hired. I was instructed to obtain Square wallet software and a Square credit card reader. Why would your employees ask me for that if I were not hired? YOUR WEBSITE said that criminal background was not an issue. It also said that the $20 fee would be a "monthly fee" to remain an active employee...if I were not hired, why was I asked to fill out a W-2? I'd like my $20 back, as well as my direct deposit information, but I have the feeling that's not going to happen. I wish you well Mr. Isreal, and I pray that SkyOne prospers.

Best Regards, Lavonsia Smith

P.S. I suggest that you hire employees that communicate much better, and my name is not Lavonsia Verdetta Smith, nor have I ever stolen a car.

I did not want to entertain this foolishness. Let's get a few things straight. You have gone way too far! You did not pass the background check! Your were informed at the time of your face-to-face interview that we will be getting back to you, once everything came back clear.  Your criminal pass of stealing vehicles in Leon County, Florida in 1996 DID NOT meet the qualifications for the position you applied for!  However, at this time we still do not have other positions that fit your qualifications and your services will not be needed at all.

In addition to your "this company is a scam", phone records and emails will prove that we have been in contact with you on numerous occasions regarding the situation.

We have our EIN (Employer Identification Number), we have our (EFIN) Number to file individual taxes, we run all W2 employees through (E-Verify); not Independent Contractors, we have our GA Department of Labor Account Number and Withholding Account Number, just a few of the government databases we are are affiliated with as a legal business entity.

I am asking that you reframe from further slander and defamation of company representation.  There were some communication issues beyond our control within the company, which have since been corrected.

Thank You and have a blessed day!

Interesting........

The business address specified on the website is for a 'virtual office' complex in downtown Atlanta. The address shown in their domain registration is for another virtual office complex in North Atlanta. Have these guys been bouncing around or what?

Keep in mind that the 'employees' are really 1099 contractors. As an 'authorized payment processor' for the company you will be handling payments. It's rather interesting that no background, criminal and drug checks are required even though you'll have access to sensitive personal information and special corporate technology. If any of the 'transactions' run afoul of the law you are on your own. That's by design. You are NOT an employee of this company. Period.

Personally, I'd steer clear of this 'opportunity'.

If you haven't lately, go to SkyOne Capital's website...they have a guarantee that everyone that applies will be given work, regardless of race, creed, color, sexual orientation, handicap status or criminal record (I don't think they gave me a criminal background check.)
The website also speaks of the $20 monthly fee to assist with the cost of the technology it takes to work from your cell phone. Of course, you were hired four months ago...a lot could change in four months! As for the direct deposit information, it does take at least two pay cycles for direct deposit to "kick in"...and I turned my information in at the end of December.
Now, I can't explain the "check" that I was supposed to get. I was not given any assignments, so I was just as confused as you when I received that email. I did keep every email sent....
I was told that the company was having issues with the system, concerning giving out assignments. It is my opinion that the company should kept the lines of communication open with me...I certainly called them enough, with no return calls from them! Regardless of whether you are a happy employee or not, SkyOne Capital has not kept their end of the deal, concerning me and my employment with them.

If you provided your direct deposit information, what was the need to go to the office to pick up your check?

I'm Confused

I've worked for SkyOne Capital going on 4 months now and I have not had any major issues.  I do know that they were having computer issues with assignments.  As far as the "monthly fee" I have not heard of that. I did have to pay $20 for a national background check.

Pending check? Not sure how a check could be pending, either you worked for it and its due to you or not. Secondly, you've been receiving several email, but no assignments... That doesn't make sense.  Secondly, this company is listed on the IRS website as a authorized e-file provider, can't be too much of scam to get the governments approval for that.

I don't know the situation or circumstances, but I'm a happy employee.
