Someone contacted Sky-Skan, Inc. with an offer to send ink cartriges to try out for a period of time, guaranteeing that there would be no pressure to pay them immediately. The scam was that they would send better cartriges for less money than you can purchase locally. The products were shipped and somehow one of the cartriges was not useable. It didn't fit any of our products. Ultimately, they wanted payment and started to call on a weekly basis for the money due on the cartrige that was never used. We returned the item to them for full credit as they wanted us to pay a discounted price of $109.00 from $159.00 due to the fact that the cartrige had been in our possession for a year or more. Since the only thing we could do with it was discard it, it was decided to return it without requesting Return Authorization as it was clear they would never authorize a return. It was sent back anyhow. Then another phone call requesting a check number for the invoice due. I stated that the cartrige was returned and that we felt that we should get full credit. There was a request for the owner's name or someone further up the chain of command in order to further demand payment. The caller also said that if the product was returned without aurhorization that they would again send it back to us in order to make us pay the invoice. So far we are hoping they will accept the returned item and stop harassing us. To be continued...

Our company was contacted with an offer to try out some toner for a period of time, guaranteeing that there would be not pressure for payment immediately. The claim was that the toner would be longer lasting and less money than local retailers. The products were shipped and some were paid for, but one item that was sent was not useable with any of the office products we had.
After some time passed, they started to call for payment. We investigated and realized the toner had been left unopened and offered to return it for full credit. They refused because the product had been in our possession for over a year. Since the only thing we could do was discard it, we opted to return it without a return authorization number.
They wanted to discount the item by $50 expecting us to pay $110 for something that was useless to us. It was sent back to them. Then another phone call requesting a check number for the invoice due. I stated we returned the toner to them and we felt we should get full credit for the toner. There was a reques then for the owner's name of someone with more authority to speak to.
A certified letter will be sent out to the owner, he said. And then asked for the tracking number so that he could have the item refused when it came in. He then threatened that they would just return the item back to us and charge us for it anyway. So far we are hoping they will accept the returned item and stop harassing us for payment.
