Skybeam has the nicest customer service people and the
worst customer service I have ever seen.
In my area, they upgraded the system Nov. 2011 and from that day to Memorial Day 2012, our service has been intermittent to non-existent. The replaced the area connect point and we did get improved connectivity but the network DNS service (the part that translates the website name to the IP address) does not work most of the time.
I have truly spent hours on the phone with the friendly people (the really are) on the help desk. The always promise to have the problem fixed but that has not happened in 6 months. BTW, they do not track and update you on your service ticket. I have no idea what they do with them but you will never hear from them again about the outage!!
If there is ANY other option for service in your area, let me encourage you NOT to use Skybeam for your service provider. In all fairness, when their system is working, it works OK. However, when it breaks you are just out of luck getting it fixed.
I can see a new cell phone tower being built in our area. I hope one of the cell companies gets there gear up soon!
