I placed my 2003 Mercedes SL55 on Cars.com in June of 2006.After several months and over 10 separate phone calls to my house by Hovey Eordekian of Skyline Motors, I agreed to have Skyline sell my car.

I paid a fee of $2500.00 and was promised the car would be sold for $84,500.00 and take no more than 5 weeks. Hovey said he already had a buyer for the car. I was also promised that the car would be meticulously maintained and kept in the same pristine condition that it was in when I handed the car to Skyline Motors. He said he would have his workers start the car in times of non-use and make sure everything was in working order. When I questioned him about the wording in the contract allowing skyline to operate the vehicle,Hovey said that was there to allow for test drives and that only pre-qualified, credited buyers would be allowed to test drive the car and that no unauthorized usage would be allowed. I specifically stated I didn't want any unauthorized use of the car!

When I delivered the car to Skyline it had 13,910 miles on it. Mr.Eordekian inspected the car and stated that the car was "immaculate" and that he would have no problem selling a car in such great condition. He took my license plates off while I was there, and put them in a folder along with all the other documents and materials associated with the vehicle. He listed the car on his web site 2 days after that with a mileage of 14,100 miles.

In April of 2007( a full 7 months after skyline had the car and it still had not been sold)I gave authorization to have the car serviced at Viti Motors. When the car was received by VITI, it had 14,500 miles on it.There were a number of problems with the car due to negligence on Skyline's part .The battery was dead, there was an inch of water in the trunk,a bubble in the front tire, and the convertible top and door locks were not working. At that point I called Mr.Eordekian and he had no explanation as to why those things could have happened and assured me he had some buyers interested in the car and that the car would be sold with no problem by the end of May because that was the peak selling season for the car.

In July of 2007(over 2 months later) I noticed that the listing on the web site said the car had 17,100 miles on it. I angrily called Mr.Eordekian and he stated that he didn't know how all those miles got on the car. When I spoke to Phillip Boire, he said Mr.Eordekian had been using the vehicle. Mr.Eordekian then said that the extra miles didn't matter because he had a person ready to buy the car and it should be sold within a week. After 3 more weeks of lies and deceit I finally decided to take the car back.

On August 12th ( a full 10 months after Skyline received the car) I drove to pick up the car. When I got into the car, the odometer had 18,739 miles on it ( a full 4,829 additional miles on it since I gave it to Skyline and 4,239 more miles on it since late April). In addition to this extra mileage, the front bumper had scrapes all over it, the rear center brake light on the trunk was cracked, the interior center console was broken and wouldn't close, and when driving it back home, there were constant "creaks and noises" coming from the roof that were never there before. The car was dirty with stains all over the interior, had used napkins on the floor, smelled a very funny odor and had virtually no gas in it. A navigation CD was also missing from the car. Since then my phone calls and messages have been left unanswered.

Mr.Eordekian, Phillip Boire and Skyline engaged in outright Fraud (by saying he could sell the car in no more than 5 weeks), Deceit(by constantly lying and saying he had buyers of the car), Negligence(by not maintaining the car properly as I was told he would and even causing more damage to the vehicle due to unauthorized usage)and Theft and Misuse of Personal Property (by putting my license plates back on the car and using it for personal use without my consent or knowledge.

Is there a reason house sellers pay their real estate comission only at a successful closing...?

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 24, 2007

It 'sounds like' you left your car in the hands of people you did not know, you paid them their "sales comission" in advance of any actual service performed, and then these purported car salesman had your car at their disposal with no controls on how they might use it. And you are surprised by you resulting situation?

Why would you want to dispose of a 2003 Mercedes SL55 that only had 14,000 miles on it? And why didn't you sell it yourself? Or trade it in?

Anyway, I know Farmington, Connecticut well- we lived in Avon 17 years back. We have many more recreation opportunities here, and they are far more extensive with respect to the population density than is the case anywhere in Connecticut. The beautiful lake with 1000 miles of shoreline that we have is hard to beat........ One often sees cars that look brand new after 10 years or more of use.... Gee, I miss Connecticut!
