Slap Chop Slap chop misrespresents the amount of their product as a 2 for 1 19.95 + 7.95 s/h but my card got billed 71.70 Internet

I saw this company's commercial At 6 a.m on 8/27/09. The commercial stated that if you ordered one of their product for $19.95 + 7.95 ship/handling and called immediately, you could get a 2nd one free.  I called the number but the automated salesperson said I had to order a minimum of three.  I didn't want that many so i went to the website. 

The site doesn't allow you to view the product w/out filling out the sales form with a credit card ( i tried to by-pass).  It also doesn't say anything about the 2/for 1 but I input 2 and went to the next screen assuming that I would be allowed to review my order before submitting it.  This was not the case.  I got a couple of pop ups for different products, I clicked no and i got a confirmation for $71.70 (not 27.90) without a review or detailed information.  i called/emailed immediately the customer service information provided on the confirmation page.

Later in the day, i got a call from 201-471-9853 wanting to confirm the order, the credit card and address - I refused to confirm and told the gal i was cancelling the order. 

Today, Aug 28th, my account was billed 71.70.  I called the 877 customer service number and was told it was too late, it had already shipped - although the web says it will take 2-4 weeks.  I told the reps that I spoke to someone yesterday - and was told that the email contact and the person who called from 201 area didn't have the order yet so they could not have cancelled it yesterday (but they had to have the info. if they called me?!?!)

I have been told that once received i can send back - at my expense. 

Bottom line - i should have been more careful, but this company is misrepresenting the sale price of their product: the tv ad doesn't tell you there is a minimum order- neither does the order form online (which you can't get past without a credit card and you aren't able to review your order before they process to a credit card)

Additionally, the tv ad doesn't tell you that you will be charged 7.95 per item.  I was billed 31.80 in shipping that they won't refund - if they refund at all. 

The public needs to know about the practices of this company.    I am posting as much as I can and have contacted the Texas Attorney General in hopes of publicing this sleazy company.
