My husband and I recently moved to NJ.  We chose to shop at Sleepys, assuming it was a reputable company due to the numerous locations and advertisements.  We were wrong.  Unfortunately for us, I did not find this website until it was too late.

To begin with, Sleepys hired two guys with a semi trailer to deliver the mattress. They damaged my bed by pulling off the old box springs, leaving deep grooves in my Kincaid footboard.

We purchased a Kingsdown Sleep to Live mattress. Within a week, the mattress had sink holes of uneven wear.  There is a large hump between us, destroying any intimacy. Giving Sleepys the benefit of doubt, I gave the mattress thirty days to give my body time to adjust. It only got worse.

I called in 35 days to report the problem. Since it was five days past their timeline, I had to get a mattress inspector. When he arrived, I asked him off the record what he thought of Kingsdown.  He advised that there are many complaints about this particular mattress and that it is of poor quality. He said Sleepys will typically make you have two or three inspections before replacing it. The "independent inspections" are routine, after three or four, the company might help.  Might.

After reading several posts like this, I believe Sleepys is aware of the problems with the mattress and chooses to sell them anyway for a high commission.  A reputable company would have dropped the line and brought in a new one.

Customer Service #1 Since Kingsdown will not honor the warranty, Sleepys does not want the mattress back.  They sent us to a store where we would receive a deep discount on purchasing another set to make it up to us for all of our problems.  After spending an hour looking at mattresses, we were told the deep discount is the actual store sale price; which everyone gets.

After wasting our time, we called Customer Service #2- A very unpleasant woman offered to take the old mattress back and give us a $700 credit. My $3,000 mattress is now worth $700 for them to resell.  Then I will have the opportunity to buy another regular sale price $2,000 mattress.

I will walk away spending $5,000 on a mattress that should cost half that. Sleepys will make money off of me three times (selling original mattress to me, reselling my old defective mattress, and selling me a second mattress) to make up for MY dissatisfaction.  I am the loser each way.  Ive lost a ton of money in a terrible economy.

When you are shopping at Sleepys, treat it like a garage saleAll Sales Final. I wish I made this purchase at a reputable store (Macys, Sam's Club....) that cared about their customers. Most reputable companies care about their customers and help resolve their issues.  Sleepys views it as another way to earn money from me. They have, in no way, helped me during this horrible experience.  They continue to make matters worse.

Never buy at Sleepys.
