Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

I spent $24.95, and could not even get but one sale.  They want me to spend more money to cancel the contract AND they won't refund me the money!!! They are just trying to make money off of people!! I had to call the bank and close my acct, and open a new one just to keep them from drafting more money out.  Who should I call about this?

SMC (The Smart Living Company is under new ownership

Where do you get your information from? I have been with SMC since 2006 and never had any problems with them. If you have a problem with them you can contact them and they will try and resolve the problem.

There are many of us who have been with them for many years and have no problem. As far as SMC changing the name to The Smart Living Company because of all these complaints, is nothing more than your made up nonesense!

SMC is under new ownership and that is why the name change.

How are you going to blame them because you have no sales that is ridiculous! When you signed up you agreed to pay the membership fees and you are responsible for making your own sales. Since you can't make any sales you bash The Smart Living Company and refuse to pay your membership fees.. It is people like you that is bad for business for everyone!

SMC (The Smart Living Company) I highly recommend if you are a serious person trying to run a serious business.. it is not for childish cry babies!

I anm going through the same issue. This is a ripp-off company with very shady practices.....anyone thinking about using this company run for the hills they will suck you dry!

Smart Living is Really SMC with a name Change!

Smart Living is really SMC  (Specialty Merchandise Corporation) they changed there name due to all the reports on here that they were getting due to the high cost of membership fees and all the pressure they give there members when calling in.

They charge you $24.95 plus shipping fees for your membership kit to come to you so the price is $39.95 with shipping. Plus they charge you that for a year if you don't come up with the money right away to pay off the membership cost.

If you think you can make money off this your wrong when you have other members selling the same products for just little above cost.  Plus they charge you $8.00 + $2.50 service fee  + $0.50 fuel surcharge on any product that is under $30 for Shipping.

So you have to charge someone $11 for shipping for something that might sell for $9.95 or $20.00.

 And they will drop the $2.50 charge if you can sell $2,000 dollars worth of products.. This is at your cost that you pay for an item. Shipping fees are not included in this price.

 There shipping fees are from 17% to 29% for orders $30 and above which  depends on the zone it is being shipped to.

The Shipping fees above is what they charge you for shipping when you place an you have to make sure you charge the customer the right shipping fees.

Then they want you to get one of there websites that can cost you $1,000 more to have a site that is not going to do any good for you. Then they pressure you each and every time you call to try and place an order to buy products that is not going to do you any good at all.

There coaches they say you will have when you sign up don't care if you make it or not... All they are there for is to make sure you spend money on stuff you don't really need.

Before you think about joining this do a search for SMC and look at all the people that have complain about how they work for you.

And they haven't change the way they work just the Name of the Company has change.

We take customer satisfaction very seriously, and we apologize for any confusion in regards to the cancellation of your 90 Day Free Trial. You can review our full cancellation policy in your membership agreement and also on our website:
If you cancel your membership within 90 days of joining Smart Living Company, you may be eligible for a refund of your membership fees (excluding shipping and handling). Call toll free 1-877-523-9088 for eligibility and cancellation instructions. If you're a Silver Member and cancel after 90 days, you will remain responsible for any remaining fees until paid in full. If your Membership Kit has shipped and you refuse delivery, the shipping and handling charge will not be refunded, and an additional $15 will be deducted from any membership fee refund to cover the return shipping. Trial Members: You may cancel during your Trial Membership and no further monthly charges will be assessed thereafter. If you cancel your membership within 90 days following the end of your Trial Membership, you are eligible for a refund of your initial membership payment.
