My husband and I are so disappointed and upset by this so-called legitimate travel service.  We were told that if we attended a meeting that we would be issued a certificate for an 8 day Cruise with Airfare included to a destination of our choice.  

We attended the meeting and sat through a two and a half hour session.  At the end of the meeting we were given a certificate that we needed to send in to Smart Travel & Incentives along with a money order for $99.00.  We were quite excited to be able to get away for a paid vacation as both of us had just lost our parents and we were having a difficult time coping with our loss.  We quickly got a postal money order and mailed it to Smart Travel & Incentives.

Much to our dismay a few weeks later we received a letter from Smart Travel with our money order returned to us. Supposedly we were required to send the activation form and postal money order via certified mail. And because we did not see that requirement anywhere on the paperwork we did not send the postal money order certified mail. Their letter said that they regretted that they could not help us further but it was beyond their control. 

We believe that they would make up any excuse in order not to comply with their advertised, certainly not them vacation. Who would be hurt by not sending a postal money order by certified mail?  Certainly not them!  It is quite obvious that they received the funds in time and to the correct address or they would not have been able to respond to us.  I guess we are simply suppose to be satisfied that they send the money order back to us.

Dear Dissappointed Customer ,
 
I am terribly sorry that we were unable to provide you with the vacation that you and your husband were looking forward to. I certinley never like to hear that sort of thing. I do wish that we didnt have to abide by the terms and conditions so strictly, but unfortunatley we do. Which is the reason that we request your signature stating that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions. We are also bound by them which is why we were forced to return the vouchers to you. Terms and conditions are not somthign that we can decide to follow or not follow at our whim. It represents a contract between us with the requirments for both of us to follow. The certified mail requirement is in the first sentence of term A.  
 
The reason we ask for the actviation forms to be sent via certified mail is for our protection and yours. For the customers protection, they now have a way to track the mail to insure its delivery, if it does not get to us and the post office loses it, then it is now their responsibility to correct their mistake and make you whole. For our protection, we do not get customer stating they mailed items that we have no record of ever reciving. If it were not there as a safeguard we could get a lot of scam artists stating they mailed money orders to us, and demanding to be compenatsed by us even though we never received anything.Which would be harmful to my companies reputation.  With the certified mail as a requirment it prevent that sort of thing from ever happening.  Again i am very sorry that we were unable to travel you and your husband.
