Complaint Review: SmartStyle Aka Regis

Regis Salons are suppose to be dedicated to the finest haircare sevices and products available. They say they offer thier stylists on going advanced technical training to ensure the stylists stay on top of the latest trends.

But for the past three years Smart Style in Orange city Fl have tolerated a stylist who cannot perform her job. The salon has complaints daily about her terrible mistakes they let her get away with it because she is disfigured. I am a very talented stylist making the corporation over 30,000 dollars a year and because she has complained that I have been noticing all the breaking of the corporate rules she is doing and she has been getting into trouble because she is getting caught doing all the things she has gotten away with for the past 3 yrs.

I was told by my manager to write down all my complaints about her and tell them to my area supervisor JoC. Who by the way use to be a stylist at my salon and was good friends with this incompetent stylist

So instead of firing her because of negligence and incomptency and frequent complaints they made up another reason to add to the letter I wrote. Because the salon is inside a Supercenter we have to share a restroom with the store and I asked one of the guys cleaning it how much longer he was going to be because I was doing a color and am a diabetic i was needed to use it soon, he answered me with a snotty rude tone saying he didn't know he doesn't have a watch, and I said whatever and went back to layway.

One of the customer service guys asked me what was wrong and I told him how that man treats me and other people I have heard his rudeness in the past I said he should be reported to management. I went back to work. That incident is the reason she said she was firing me because I threatened their relationship inside the supercenter and that I wrote complaints about the other stylist which I was told to do by my manager.

My manager told me that I would either get my hours switched so I didn't have to work with her or they would transfer me. Then my manager went into the hospital and was gone about 2 wks thats when the area supervisor came in to fire me. She told me before I left do not discuss this with anyone because I know Regis owns everyone and I would never be hired at a regis salon again can you say black mail? I have contacted unemployment and I called her to ask what my reason for termination is and she said to put misunderstanding with a supercenter employee ok does that sound right too you? I have never been wrote up or given any warnings but they just fired me because Brenda doesn't like me.

Also she told me Brenda is handicapped and has been there for 3 yrs and she is going nowhere. What do you think the reason is they hang on to her she is a big liability and she makes them no money hardly especially compared to my salary I can't figure it out! I took a stand to protect the clients and the overall well being of the shops reputation which she has ruined mostly. And I get terminated for it.

its the truth!!

I too was a stylist for smart style recently... however i was let go because they told me i was not commitioning, however i have worked there for 5 1/2 years and i can at this moment show 18 paychecks that show all but three commitioned and could probably find more if need be.. now that you know why i was let go let me share this with you... I too know the stylist you are speaking of and YES we have had several people come in complaining about her, I even had to fix my neighbors hair once because of it. About a week before i was fired a women in a wheel chair came and and was complaining about the stylist you are speaking of, (i beleive she works in the deltona story now) well... this costomer called home office at our salon and put the complaint in about that stylist and guess what??? a week or two later i was fired!!.. makes ya think dont it??  hummmmmm.... and let me add, my manager DID NOT want to fire me and can NOT understand why they did as well... I have contacted home office, and wrote the company SEVERAL times about what has happened to me and they didn't even have the curtacy to contact me back..

They probably get a huge discount on thier taxes

and the state may be paying half of her wages. That may be why they are keeping her! Or they are afraid of a discrimination lawsuit if they fire her. However, if she runs off all the good stylists, and customers will not come in because of her, and its making all the other stylists uncomfortable, they need to complain to management! It's sounds like if anyone stands up against her they will lose thier job too. So they will not complain. However, Regis has alot of salons so they do not seem to be too worried about this one at all. I have checked it out and at one point this salon made the most money in the general area of all the SmartStyle salons I am sure that will not be the case this next quarter. They just cut off there nose to spite thier face, their loss!

Everything about this stylist is true

I have never worked with anyone more incompetent then this above mentioned stylist. And I don't understand why Regis keeps her on. She cannot answer the phone, customers complain they cannot understand her on the phone, she insults the spanish speaking customers right in front of everyone telling them they need to learn to speak english.

She steals every walk in retail customer that walks in the door, and Regis rewards her for it. They give her prizes and pay her 10% of her retail sales. Because she was so close to the register, and she wouldn't give anyone else a chance to sell anything. So the manager moved her to the back of the salon to be fair to the other employees.

Well this area supervisor Jo C. moved her back even closer to the register. They would not do this for any other stylist, and she does nothing to deserve it, she is a back stabbing gossip I dont get it? How stupid is this area supervisor? All the stylists cannot stand to work with her. They all wish she was gone. But Regis keeps her WHY???

No one understands why they keep this girl under employment not even the manager.Other then she brown noses to all the managers as much as humanly possible. Upper management will not let management fire her. Are they afraid of a lawsuit? Every corporate rule she breaks. They lie and say shes never been called in to corporate on (which is a big lie) she has been called on more then anyone I know 10 to 12 people that have told me they have called on her in the last 10 mths, with no response from Regis. She has ran off all the good stylists for the past 3 yrs.She has hardly any one that wants her and the ones that do feel sorry for her. She is the worst gossip in the salon, she backstabs like you wouldn't believe. And milks her disfigurement for all its worth.How stupid is this company this salon would grow so much without this stylist. I don't have a clue???
