I know about SMC first hand ... it's the sales people's job to sell, sell, sell. Most lie and cheat to get the sale, even if it means getting a commitment from a person spending their last dollars for the downpayment - with a promise of big rewards in the future. Unfortanately the honest people working there just don't make the cut on the sales floor.
After a complimentary membership was given to me (which was a nice gift, I guess) I tried selling the products, built a website of my own and found it very hard to make money. You almost need to know a store owner or work the flea markets to make it. The guy they've been using for eons that goes to his mailbox and finds huge checks is probably very few and far between. SMC could work for some people. I'm sure if the average Joe/Jane with no retail connections really, really, really hustled they could make pennies on the dollar.
As for the e-commerce section, it's a template with a big dollar sign. I know a web designer who laughed when I told her how much SMC charges for theirs. There again it's sell, sell, sell.
Problems? Depending on how deep in you are, you must file complaints with the BBB and other org., call your credit card companies (I'm sure they have had thousands of calls already) call and ask for supervisors, hound them, don't give up and do it ASAP when you decide you don't want the kit. In fact if you change your mind, don't open it! Call SMC for return info. or check their website for the policy.
