Softcom Technologies (myhosting.com) billed my credit card $4.95 a month for years without my permission.


I signed up for a free hosting trial, yet their bills continued for years without my permission.


I should say that I should have been more vigilant about watching my charges.  I should also note that when I called they were quick to cancel the monthly charges.


But looking at ripoffreport.com I'm not the only one to have this problem with them.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a negative experience. I'm not quite sure what account this is in regards to as no details were provided. Our hosting accounts currently give the first three months for free. After the free months all customers are billed at the regular monthly rate. When signing up for an account billing information is required but a credit card is not. You can pay via check, money order, PayPal or Credit Card. If you chose to enter a credit card then we would have used that as your preferred billing method. Once the free months ended we would have billed you for your account until you chose to close it. If you requested that the account be closed and we didn't handle that properly for you please let me know and I will investigate.
